Deco 79 Aluminum Functional Gramophone with Record, 19" x 17" x 27", Brown

I received the main pieces and nothing was broken although the logo on the front is attached poorly and looks cheap. There is a tonal missing pieces that attaches the arm to the sound box. Someone else mentioned the same piece missing so I guess I should have heeded the reviews. I will be returning if I don't hear anything from the seller in the next day or two.

I think visually - from a very far distance, this is a passable as a gramophone. In practice, the table is wobbly, the items (2x) came to me damaged / used / not in original packaging. If you do get one, it likely is a return/refund refurb.If you ever get it assembled, the turntable wobbles due to the poor bottom welding. The reproducer also sounds awful on the supplied record. IMO, you're better off buying a used gramophone than this one.

I spent some time searching around for old Gramophones and found that a majority of the options Amazon provided contained customer reviews with people complaining of their product only being a display piece with limited functionality. This Gramophone not only looks beautiful, it plays old records with stunning sound projection. It sometimes will take some fiddling to get the record spinning to the right speed, but once it gets going I've found that it is able to play for a couple minutes before having to rewind. It should be noted that this machine will only old play 78s (so don't place a regular vinyl on the turntable unless you wish to scratch it!).

It took a bit of effort to assemble without instructions but it all came together.It performs just as any Gramophone would ,not what everyone might enjoy but it sounds like ones I listened to decades ago,mind you the record is in poor shape so that is a big factor but I have many 78s in my collection so not an issue and to be honest I bought this simply for visual pleasure ,I will continue to use my regular player for my music.But all in all I really like it and as I say it works.took about half an hour to get built on the old kitchen counter and now it resides in my living room. Nice size too.
