Genuine Product, exact in size, weight, feel, looks, smell, color..... Youtube has videos on how to install this. Easy job, even without a lift. I put my 94 K1500 up on ramps and had lots of room. Driveline must be removed to do this job. A few known Cautions are listed below ,but are not limited to any or all issues one may encounter. Consult or hire a mechanic before attempting any work. Caution #1 Weep Hole goes down, you cannot adjust this if installed incorrectly. (See photo) Caution #2 When you install the new seal, youtube videos show using an empty soup can, but the cans these days are to weak and crush before the seal gets seated. So, I had a piece of 3" muffler pipe laying around and I cut about a 4 inch length, smoothed the edges and tap tap tapped the new seal right in place. I recommend having this ready to go before you tear your rig apart. Caution #3 If you have a leak, it might not be this seal at all, it might be the the driveline fitting. Easy fix, with some liquid gasket, (and a shop vac) make sure you understand this issue and put the preventive fix in place when the driveline is out. (again youtube university covers this issue) (see photo, blue sealant) Caution #4 If you have an active leak, CHECK THE FLUID IN YOUR TRANSFER CASE, why am I yelling? Because a leak means you have lost fluid and a transfer case is expensive. I could not figure out how my transmission was holding full fluid but I had a leak, then I discovered it was the transfer case seal, my transfer case uses transmission fluid, (in a separate tank from the transmission) as most do. Best of Luck.

Did work on 1999-04 Sierra likely Silverado too ,1500 series w floor shift 4x4 ,has slightly different lay to original, good because in addition to the transfer case rub thru issue of these, the yoke shaft does wear and can drip as oil bearing ages then shaft is more difficult to seal consistently so a different lay of even a few thousands may be enough to prevent drip scenarios. Have seen that some after market do not last near as long as original or even leak from get go so go with gm if cost is minimal then you did the best you could . The 5 th star comes for longevity, so if this fix does not work then you will be replacing oil bearing in case and likely case rub thru soon after . That said these units worth the repair when you see the newer renditions . Use dex3 ,not 6, ensure vent clear to prevent pressure leak, and drip hole down on install.
