Theory of Constraints Review: MUST READ - If you have not read any of this man's books you are seriously missing out. My husband had to read a couple of his books for an MBA class and he hates reading novels so he turned it over to me to give him the basic points of the book. The books were so good he even read them and so I bought this for him for christmas. You learn so much from these books; there's so much you can apply directly to your own workplace and life in general. So glad I bought this. Good book
Its a little smart for my taste but on the second read it becomes much clearer as to what Goldratt is trying to depict. Its a great illustration of where to move resources in modern manufacturing today, and that your problems are not always what they seem.

good book
basically a summary of the book "the goal" which is a story. It extracts and takes a closer look at business principles of constraints. I work in manufacturing so I found it applicable to my work.

Theory of Constraints
Academia has always criticized Dr. Goldratt’s work because it lacks academic rigor or statistical data to prove the idea works. In this book, Eli tries to explain the scientific thinking behind his development of TOC. He describes the difference between physical constraints and their causes. He also explains why his Thinking Processes are necessary for root cause analysis of constraints. This book is a must-read to understand the theory behind TOC.

still good stuff
OK, we all read this book, and “The Goal” in the 90’s. I just read it again. This is one of the few business books that have survived my twice-per-decade book weed-outs. I’m glad I kept it. Keep thinking. Keep thinking. The second half the book becomes a labor, but the first half is still great.

Como todos los libros de Elihayu Goldratt, este es uno más que vale la pena leerlo.

worth the read
This book seems to be a collection of small articles. The concepts and information are very relevant. The only downside is - it seems like some subjects are glossed over, and im having a hard time connecting the dots. Good read though.

As if you are looking at the behind the scene of his books, you will be able to understand the essence of TOC. This book is to give you the overview of his theory so that readers can get the big picture of it. IMHO, it is better to open this book after you've gone through his The Goal at least, but it's not a prerequisite.

J'ai acheté ce livre après avoir lu "Le But" (The Goal), en espérant d'y trouver un guide pratique sur l'implémentation de la théorie des contraintes. Grave erreur ! Non ?

Having read the goal and it's not luck, this was a good follow up book that re-enforced the theory attributes. A bit dry and hard to read through in parts. Overall a good follow up read.

This is the core book that introduces Goldratt’s Theory of Constraints. It is a bit wordy at times, but if you are serious about your management practices, you really must read it. In addition, for IT and software, you should read The Phoenix Project. A tighter version is available as a graphic novel, as well.
