Centuries from now, civilization as we know it has ceased to exist. Billions perished and nations collapsed, but over time, a feudal society emerged where the strongest rose to wealth and power. This area, known as the Badlands, is uneasily divided among seven rival Barons who control the resources necessary to daily life. Each Baron has loyal armies of trained assassins known as Clippers. Baron Quinn s head Clipper, Sunny (Daniel Wu), grew swiftly through the ranks to become Quinn s most trusted advisor. For decades, Quinn has been unchallenged as the Badlands most powerful Baron, but there is a rising suspicion among his rivals that he is growing vulnerable. The territory s newest Baron, The Widow (Emily Beecham), has begun testing his appetite for a fight. An ambush leads Sunny to a teenage boy, M.K. (Aramis Knight), who Sunny soon learns harbors a dark secret and has a hefty bounty on his head. Sunny selects M.K. as his Colt (student) and together, they will embark on an odyssey that could mean the difference between chaos and enlightenment for everyone in the Badlands. Review: Love this Series! - I wish this series went on longer, especially how the series finally ended. I would hope the fans would unit and get a list of fans that would like at least a 2-hour movie to maybe finalize the story like what happed when Firefly was canceled after one season and then movie Serenity was made. Blu-ray's all played well with no digital glitches. Thank you. Review: Exciting and original show - If you're a fan of action, suspense, supernatural elements, drama, martial arts, or all of the above, you'll probably like this show. It takes place in an AU kind of post-apocalyptic future, where Barons (essentially slave owners in some cases) control divided up territories of land and war with each other over control. The lower classes have very little freedom and choices- most either work in the fields or become soldiers in their baron's armies, but let's just say not the typical fighting style of a soldier. The lead, Daniel Wu, was a great choice. It's nice to see an Asian male lead, too. The actors are all talented. My favorite character besides the two mains is the Widow- you'll figure out why if you try the show. There's strong women in this show, it's far from being all male dominated. Lots of kicking a** and it's a very original take on the genre. It might seem like the post-apocalyptic thing has been overdone but this is like nothing I've ever seen in the genre before.

One of the Greatest Series to Air!
I am blown away and in awe. This is not your typical AMC show. Into the Badlands has a phenomenal plot. The fighting, the story, the characters and the actors... this series has it all. It does not fall from the plot and sticks to events in order, full of surprises & satisfaction. I love all the characters and can't decide who to root for. I am a huge Game of Thrones fan, a Stranger Things fan, and a Breaking Bad fan. 99% of television series lose my interest and I generally do not watch them. I don't own cable but do not miss out on this title. You will not be disappointed. I hope season two is just as good as the first. We'll see in 2017.

Aramis Knight delights as M.K. in "Into the Badlands."
This is the first series of this sort I've ever seen. I was amazed and delighted with the quality of the script and - most especially of the acting. Most of my accolades must go to Aramis Knight, the young actor who plays M.K.. I thought he was outstanding in this series and could develop into a serious leading man contender in the future. I first saw him in Ender's Game (as Bean) and was impressed by him there - especially after I found that he was only twelve years old throughout the filming.

10 badass fights outta 10
My friend says the fights are too fake, but that is what makes it unique. Academy award winning Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was done in the same format, a little fantasy involved. Go with it. Acting good too. I love apocalyptic themes and this fills the bill with LORDS ruling fiefdoms of the post modern world era, and swords/fists are once again the weapon of choice. Try it out.

Like apocalyptic shows ? then this one is for you !
If you enjoy post apocalyptic shows like I do then you love The Badlands. Imagine a world with no more governments, just different clans fighting for the earth's resources and imagine not many guns are used for defense because bullets have become scarce so people fight with knives and swords. This is the world of The Badlands which features a great story line, action and yes, romance. I highly recommend this show to fans of action and post apocalyptic shows.

Daniel Wu Is So Good.
Always love martial arts shows or movies for that matter, so when I stumble upon this I had to give it a go. and I’m very pleased I did. cause it was good for the first season and I love that action. acting was so so but not terrible. I like movies where civilization has ceased to exist an the badlands are free of people who do bad things. not like watching a cop show when this is not right or that’s not good over an over an over again an again. like stop. I love the way Márton Csókás, acts in this series like his brain is not functioning properly. love it. Daniel Wu Is So Good.

Best martial arts of any TV show.
Best martial arts on any north american TV show, by far, ever. Definitely movie quality practical effects, decent performances by all, and relatively tight writing. The first season might be short (only 6 episodes I think), but it sure packs a punch.
