Loctite 222 – Low Strength Screw Lock for Small Metal Threads

The Loctite screw lock is low strength and is ideal for securing long or small diameter screws, as well as adjusting screws and countersunk screws. It can be used for all threaded connections made of active metals as well as for passive metals. The screw lock prevents the threaded connection from loosening independently or from leaks due to vibration. For easily dismountable connections, the screw lock is low strength and can be disassembled with hand tools. Thanks to its thixotropic properties, the adhesive does not run off during application.

Clean all surfaces with the Loctite SF 7063 cleaner and allow to dry. If necessary, use activator and allow to dry. To avoid clogging of the nozzle due to cured product, the tip must not touch metal surfaces during application. For through holes, apply several drops to the screw where the nut will sit. For blind holes, apply several drops inside along the thread down to the bore base. For sealing applications, apply adhesive 360° ring-shaped to the thread beginning of the external thread, leaving the first thread clear. Paint material down to the thread base. For larger threads, adjust the quantity accordingly and also apply adhesive 360° annular to the internal thread. Assemble and tighten parts as usual.
