Great mathmatical toy as well as present! Costs a little bit more than the usual toy for children but gives hours of pleasure plus is pretty indestructible! Great for ages 4yrs to 12yrs! Made of excellent quality material.

I love these toys. Even though the magformers are expensive, they are well worth it as they will last forever. My sons 1 and 4 LOVE these toys and play with them daily. Yes DAILY. We have had one set since last Christmas (almost a year) and I ordered this set in July to join it and it is just as good as the first one. Between the two sets they keep coming up with new stuff to build. (I will say they played with the first set by itself every day and they still came up with a ton of stuff--now it is just double the fun) Would I like to have more? Of course but given the cost we have to buy them in chunks. Don't get me wrong one set is enough to have fun with and the wheels and hexagons are a big hit and in almost every creation that they make. So if you had to pick just one set I would say this is a good one to go with. The best part is that they are magnets (so they are learning magnetic properties) and they are safe --which many magnets are not because they are so small they pose choking hazards...these do not.

All my grandkids enjoyed this gift....12 yr old....5yr old...and even 22 month old. Its fun....and good quality. Magnets work good. Will buy more sets.

I absolutely love all the Magformers sets. And having seven grandchildren, I've purchased at least a dozen sets. These sets are quite expensive, but in my opinion, well worth the investment. This is one of the few toys that has the ability to fascinate both a two-year-old and a twelve-year-old. I prefer the sets that have the "basic" shapes and perhaps the ones with the wheels. I'm less a fan of the sets that make a specific item, like a crane, a Ferris Wheel, etc. (and I have both of these sets too) because once you've built the item, it's not much fun to build it again. Having only the basic shapes and some wheels allows for greater creativity on the part of the child. Best to purchase the larger sets so you can create all sorts of things. Next to sand, water, blocks, cardboard boxes, and paint, Magformers are my favorite things to offer children. They will spend hours building with them.
