Q: How I know the correct size?

They run similar to regular sizes - I would say medium equal to 8-10 but they are a slim cut so size up if you are not slim build.

I think medium would work if you want room for a sweater or sweatshirt under it. I bought a fleece lined Aden raincoat which was running small. I sized up two sizes from what I'd wear in LLBean on the Aden model to an XL based on reviews and my coat had extra room for a sweater or sweatshirt and still draped lovely. I think one size up would be enough. I 'm 5'3" and 128lbs.
