Govee RGBIC Alexa LED Strip Light, 5m Smart WiFi App Control

These strip lights are probably the best I have ever purchased. If you like the look of Phillips hue products then I can honestly say Govee are very much on par with them but a fraction of the price.The lights can go extremely bright and there are 1000’s of combinations and settings within the app to customise these to whatever you would like to use them for.They are easy to install and fit with pre applied sticky back tape however be mindful that as these strips are silicone coated they do not bend sideways as easily as the non coated strips and you will have to take the bends a lot wider.The applied tape is very sticky and will stick to almost any surface and you can lift them and reapply if you make a mistake.I have many Govee products now within my house and some of them for a few years with lights being used for hours every day so I can confidently say these will last a long time.

Absolutely love these! All of the Govee products are worth every penny!I set these up in the conservatory roof as there isn’t a light out there. They connect via the WiFi and easy to set up and install with a self adhesive backing. I have them set on a timer which is good in the winter when you can come home and you have lights on and also that they automatically turn off.Plenty of colours and scenes to set what ever environment you want and to enjoy your evening!They have been there for about 18 months now and totally reliable and durable

All in all i was very impressed with these lights, as can be seen from the image they are very bright and do exactly what I had hoped they would. A few positive points, the app is easy to install and understand, connecting to the lights was very simple and setup was straightforward and the lights themselves are very good. Pairing with Alexa to remotely control via voice was also very easy and now i can turn them on from anywhere.The final star was lost for a few reasons. 1) The control unit is hard wired in to the light strip circuit. This means that if, like me, you need install these outside but power them from inside you have to thread the the whole strip though the wall unless your hole is big enough to get the control unit through. 2) While the lightstrip has contact adhesive backing which I'm sure is very good, for some unknown reason the front side of the light strip is also very sticky, possibly from being wound on a reel. I made the mistake of putting the strip down on a table with a load of paper on it and found that the light strip got well and truly stuck to the paper such that it was tearing as i was trying to remove it.Those issues aside though I would recommend this product but just take note of the above and avoid my mistakes.

Really great purchase for the kids! Waterproof, sealed in silicone to avoid damages. I fixed them on double sided velcro for easy installation and also as the kids like to peel it off.... The attached remote is fun for the kids but the APP is what truly gives you the BEST EXPERIENCE with so many default settings like SeaWorld, forest white noises... Plus you can customise any sequence.I was recommended this product by AI.... It couldn't be more perfect! It has been a month and no issues. I will update accordingly :)

I have invested in Philips Hue around the house, but following a refurb in my PC / Office room I decided to replace the rubbish cheap led strip lights around my desk with some Govee. Reading reviews they seem to be a respected and value for money option. I have installed these going around the sides and back of my black L shaped desk, and they went on very easily, stuck first time and felt a decent quality strip. I have managed to get these around my entire desk and the remaining length underneath some of the front, so it lights up the front of my record collection under the desk. So, plenty long enough. Gives a lovely relaxing classy ambience which is what I am after, not flashing tacky lights. Have to say, I am very impressed with these. I am glad I went for the RBIC version as you get beautiful mixtures of colours around the strip. Much classier than single colours. I haven't began to properly explore the app yet, but looks extensive and supported by the community too. Have set up some automation in the app, but couldn't see a way to get them to come on at sunrise / sunset, just a set time. Not sure if that is an option yet. Overall, very impressed with these

great option for ambient lighting it’s bright, flexible, and feels like good quality overall. The adhesive sticks well. It works well with Alexa for voice control, and the Govee app gives you a lot of customization options. the colors aren’t always super accurate but you can adjust them manually in the app to get pretty close to what you want. If you don't care about perfect color accuracy, it’s a good smart LED strip for the price.

Sold as outside lighting but one big criticism - the mains U.K. adapter plug.It’s a standard size adapter which means it won’t fit in a standard outside/external rated mains socket. Doh !Other than how the hell do you enclose a large mains adapter outside problem ( and to be fair they’re not the only manufacturer that does this ) the device is well built and the software application will give you every permutation of colour or flashing you could ever want, you’ll just need to buy an IP rated box to house the mains adapter unless you drill a hole in the wall of your house and run the cable to an inside socket.This kind of defeats it’s attraction of being sold as outside led lighting when a fundamental flaw in the mains adapter size prevents use in a standard IP rated external mains socket.Whinge over, the adhesion of the strip appears to be reasonable, mine has been outside in all weathers for a month now, but the surface they were stuck to was pristine and virginal, so prep the area you want to stick them on otherwise the weight of the strip will probably help in its removal.Can be controlled from your phone via the app for on/off and colour schemes and a white switch with adhesive backing if you’d rather not. Price wise, not the cheapest but you get what you pay for, so far so good and Govee do offer some comeback if reliability fails sooner than you’d expect.On balance I’d recommend as ok just be aware of the U.K. adapter issue with external waterproof sockets, you’ll need a mini extension lead and another waterproof enclosure to get over the fundamental flaw in using an adapter that won’t fit a standard external mains socket in the U.K.

After about 10 years the Leds I had running up my stairs (static colour) running for 15 hours a day they started losing colour and the controller started noticeably buzzing so it was time to replace the.And I'm happy to say these are perfect.note they are in diffusers so they look extra clean in the video but they look excellent, capable of good brightness and the animations are quite good & alot of customisation with a range from painfully slow right up to warp 10 seizure mode so you'll certainly be able to tailor things to your desires, there's alot of bang for the buck here compared to other brands happily charge an extra £100+ with half the functionality and length.Also worth noting despite officially not being able to cut them, I was able to snip a segment (Important: cut on the visible copper line at the rear of strip. ) off the end with no issues outside of the app still thinking the lights are still there which has made no difference to how they work just means if I try changing the end segment It isn't the end of what's actually there.
