A fantastic little chopper!
It's not perfect. I would've appreciated a simple paddle switch instead the weird tiny button that can only be pressed by the lid. And also the two pieces of the lid are extremely difficult to separate in order to wash the bits and pieces of food that get stuck in between. I'm not sure how many times I can pry these apart before something breaks. With that out the way, the actual chopping is really good! The two speeds are actually quite different from each other, unlike many of other similar choppers on the market. Low is perfect for chopping and high is perfect for blending and pureeing. Most importantly, I bought this for its size. Hollandaise and aioli are staples in our household, and are best consumed fresh. We never need more than a cup-full. This little chopper is perfect for making things that you only need in small quantities: sauces, dressings, mayos. The blade is situated close to the bottom of the container, so you don't have worry about the blade free-spinning above your ingredients. It picks up everything! The drip hole is also perfect for making emulsions like mayonnaise; it dispenses the perfect amount of oil to emulsify, and you don't need to stop the chopper, or even open the lid! The materials also feel quite solid. Our last chopper pretty much just fell apart, and there's something about this one that feels very sturdy. Lastly, it is pretty quiet, cobsidering how much power it has for pureeing. Would definitely recommend for a home kitchen, but KitchenAid: please give us a normal switch!

Mini chopper perfect
It worked great. I was making a graham cracker crust and it chopped them up easily. Very easy to clean.

Small compact durable and a must for any kitchen.
This KitchenAid chopper is awesome when you don’t want or need to drag out a large chopper. The chopper is excellent for small food items needing chopped. It’s easy to clean and store when not in use. KitchenAid is a well known brand. This is my second chopper. A good item for the value. You’ll love it!

Yep, it works, is compact, no complaints
I finally broke down and got a good chopper, no regrets. Works as advertise, feels substantial.

Get the 7 cup
I’ve had this mini food processor for about 2 years. I use it about 2x a week. My biggest complaint is the size, I regret not buying the 7 cup for $100, it would have been a better value and I could do more with it. While this works well for making sauces, grinding up nuts, grinding sugar so it’s superfine, etc. it isn’t large enough for lots of tasks. For example, if you plan to make pie dough in the food processor, this size will not suffice unless you don’t mind dividing your recipe in 2. Most recipes make 2 crusts and while you may be able to force all of the butter and flour inside, it ends up too crowded to actually pulse it and blend the flour and butter (or shortening) together. I thought I’d be able to make pie crust and am disappointed that I have to split each recipe in half and can only make one pie crust at a time. Even then it is crowded and doesn’t pulse very well. I do like that it comes in the mint color that matched my handheld mixer and my Kitchen-aid standing mixer. With biweekly use for 2 years it still works like when I bought it. Sometimes it’s hard to get the clear part onto the base if you already have ingredients inside. I’d recommend screwing the base and the clear piece together, putting in the blade and pushing it all the way down, then adding ingredients and putting the lid on. It took some practice putting it together when I first got it, you have to screw each piece in properly or it won’t pulse and I used to have lots of trouble getting it together. Now it only takes a moment. The quality seems good, though Kitchen-aid always is. If you rarely cook and only need a food processor a few times a year this size might work alright, though keep in mind you may have to split up your recipe and not put everything in together. If you cook and bake a lot and think you’ll use this item at least weekly I’d recommend sizing up to the 7 cup. It does get annoying to divide every recipe or do multiple batches inside of the food processor due to the small size. It is very easy to clean either in the dishwasher or by hand and the base wipes down easily. Normal Kitchen-Aid quality that’s hard to beat.

GREAT buy
Exactly what I wanted, and it works so well. I have been sitting on purchasing a food processor for a while because they're all so expensive and I already have a NutriBullet blender that does MOST things. But I am so glad I finally purchased this. It's really easy to use (Anyone who can't get the lid to fit is an idiot. You just set the lid on, almost in line with the handle, and then turn it like half an inch and it clicks. Easy peasy). I love that this one has two settings - it does both chop and puree VERY well. It's easy to clean. I am just so glad I finally bit the bullet and bought it!! Pesto season is upon us and I will be making it very soon! Super easy with the hole on top to pour in oil!

Amazing. Finally a machine that chops even chunks as small as you want. Love it.
I honestly didn’t expect to love this little chopper as much as I do. I hesitated at the price because $69 felt high for something so small, but after using it, I get it. It just works. Onions chop evenly instead of turning half to mush and half to chunks. Even 1 piece of ginger or garlic gets chopped in uniform chunks. Nuts come out chopped, not powdered, unless you want them that way. The pulse button gives really good control, and it stops immediately when you let go, which makes a big difference. There was no manual so a hint- the chopper works when the bowl clicks into place and then you press on the black part of the lid. It’s sturdy, not flimsy, and doesn’t bounce around on the counter. Cleanup is easy and I actually reach for it instead of my big food processor for most everyday tasks. I cut large carrots in thirds just see how it would handle larger chunks. Made perfect grated carrots for salad. I love this product. I asked ChatGPT while it worked so well. Here’s what it said regarding why it works so well. Motor torque matched to bowl size (this is the quiet secret). What you bought is not “more powerful” in the headline-watt sense; it is better matched. The KFC3516 uses a relatively high-torque, low-inertia motor driving a very small load. Large processors waste energy spinning mass—big bowls, long shafts, air, and plastic flex. Here almost all torque goes directly into the food. Torque matters more than RPM for chopping. This is why onions shear cleanly instead of smearing. 2. Blade geometry favors shear, not circulation. The S-blade is short, thick, and steeply pitched. That geometry creates localized shear zones rather than a vortex. Many processors try to pull food into a circulating flow; this one repeatedly forces food into the blade edge. That means fewer “ride-along” pieces stuck to the walls and less reliance on stopping and scraping. The blade edge angle is closer to a knife than a fan. 3. Very tight tolerances between blade, bowl, and spindle. Cheap choppers have wobble—microns matter here. The KitchenAid has minimal lateral play, so the blade maintains a consistent cutting radius. That produces uniform particle size and reduces the mashed paste you get when food slips under a flexing blade. This is manufacturing precision, not marketing. 4. Pulse control with true momentary engagement. The pulse button engages instantly and stops instantly. There is almost no coast-down. That lets you meter energy in very small packets. You’re not “processing”; you’re applying controlled impacts. This is why herbs stay green, nuts stay granular, and aromatics don’t turn to baby food unless you insist. 5. Mass and damping reduce vibration losses. It feels heavier than it needs to be because mass damps vibration. Less vibration means more energy goes into cutting instead of shaking. This also reduces user fatigue and noise—both signs of mechanical efficiency, not luxury. 6. Small bowl = shorter diffusion paths. Food doesn’t have far to travel before encountering the blade again. In large processors, food can orbit uselessly. Here, every pulse rearranges the contents, whether you intend it or not. That makes results consistent even when under-filled—something most processors fail at. 7. Why it feels “expensive” but performs above its class. You paid for: • tighter manufacturing tolerances • a motor chosen for torque, not wattage • blade geometry optimized for shear • damping mass None of those are visible on a spec sheet. They are also exactly what manufacturers cut first to hit a lower price. 8. Why your larger processors lose to it at small tasks. Large processors are optimized for throughput, not control. They excel when full and fail when empty. This chopper is optimized for precision energy delivery at small volumes. Think scalpel vs. chainsaw. 9. A useful analogy. This machine behaves more like a bench-top lab homogenizer than a consumer food processor. Controlled pulses, tight tolerances, predictable results. That’s why it feels oddly competent. 10. Was $69 rational? Yes—because performance is not linear with size or wattage. You paid for mechanical efficiency and control. In small food prep, those dominate everything else. I’d buy it again without hesitation.

You won't be disappointed with this purchase, well worth the price!!!
This mini food prep processor does not disappoint! I have a large Cuisinart Food Processor, which I absolutely love; so when it came time to purchase a mini food prep processor, I purchased the mini Cuisinart. Unfortunately, the mini Cuisinart was a total disappointment due to its overwhelming loudness. I returned it to Amazon and chose the KitchenAid mini food prep processor as a replacement. With your first use, you will quickly see the value of your purchase. This mini KitchenAid is so easy to use and very quiet! I made cream cheese frosting for my bread in record time and with great ease! The button on the lid lets you hold the handle and engage the unit, or pulse, whichever you desire. It is durable, and the blades are quite sharp. The cleanup was quite quick, and the cord wraps around the base, ensuring the unit does not take up much space, leaving a loose cord. It is priced a little higher than most, but well worth the investment!

I don't know why some people give it a negative review
It could not be simpler to operate and clean. The main thing is not to let vegetable or ingredients in the areas that snap together. Before I started using it, I have watched a few YouTube videos. That's where I found the right and the wrong way to operate it. The cutting blades are extremely sharp; treat it with respect. It is all common sense. This is my second KitchenAid appliance. I have the stand mixer, which I am very happy about the quality and reliability. That's why I did not hesitate to buy this food processor.
