Oh my GOODness. These flame-tamers are great! I wanted to stop burning food and to slow-simmer for hours, on my stovetop, so I bought 2, and they just stay ready-to-use on the stove. I don't know how I lived without them. FYI, you can take the handles right off if you don't want to use them. Great for my gas range, but it says they will work on other types of cookers, too.

EZ to clean, but shows burn marks from gas. Durable. Lightweight. Great size for pans. Fits burner well. And if it lasts a year, at this price, I'm thrilled. Works great at dispersing flame. No more food burning because of the gas center of heat.

I just purchased a second one after trying the first one out for a few months. I found the handle to be less than useful, but it comes off so I use it sans handle. Works fine. However, on larger pots the piece of metal that the handle hooks into forms a lip that protrudes above the surface and prevents larger pots and pans from sitting level. I took a pair of pliers and bent the little metal pieces of the hook down flat. Works perfect now.

Very good and useful. Size is good and it is easy to use. It is sturdy and seems to be durable.

I bought a set last year because I remember my mother using something similar many years ago. These work very well. I ended up buying two more sets for my gas range and they work very well. They diffuse and protect my food so it does not stick to my pots and pans. I take off the handle for my larger pans so I can center them better on the burner. Very happy with results.

Discolors immediately after first use, and has an unpleasant offgasing like you aren't really meant to use it on a stove.... aside from that, my moka pot is still in good shape, so I think it does protect your heat sensitive products on a large stove.

5 stars. Done! 2-pack for providing a diffuse heat buffer for heat sensitive applications, but in my immediate case, to use a moka style espresso pot on a gas stove. The one I used was built for an induction (glass flat top) stove and does sit on a gas stove but is more stable with one of these diffusers. I washed before first use with hot diluted soapy water, because there are a lot of nooks and crannies with the perforations, so I wanted the soap to rinse out easily. Shook it out, let it dry on the rack a bit, then put it to use on low to get residual water out. Love the handle, and it makes sense, this sits right over the burner on low, low-medium in my case, but still gets an orange glow, which may be the dispersal of the blue burner flame beneath. I'm not implying it was "red hot." The handle is removable, FYI. The handle did not get hot. It provides such a GREAT base for my use above. Pictures included. Gives a reason to jump back into making caramel or chocolate dipped orange peels. Just a great product so far.

Removable handle is a very good function. It is good for placing it under my cast iron dosa tava. It is also good for roasting brinjal etc.

Love this and works amazing for my gas stove. Used it once already and my rice came out perfect. Didn’t stick to the bottom of the pot.

Perfect for simmer in gas range. My pots always boiled so hard until I got this now things cook slower and evenly.
