These really work!!
There is nothing else like this. Believe me, I looked. I even checked into making these myself, but suitable materials were not to be found. So even though they seem a little pricey, they are worth every penny. They work beautifully. If your window casings are white, get the white. They will look like part of the window casing. Buy enough to do the bottom edge as well. Install sides first. Then install bottom edge, nesting it behind the side strips. When you cut the strips, make sure they fit right; if they are too tight a fit they will buckle, falling off and/or let light in. Anyway, here is a tip. The bottom edge of my blinds was a little too wide to allow for the sleepy time strips. I had to pry off the end caps with a flat screwdriver. This also allowed me to slide off the clear plastic "handles" that one uses as an aid to pull the shade down. These would get in the way of the bottom-edge sleepy time strip. See photos. If excess light is harming your sleep, and you'd rather not install heavy curtains over your blinds, then here is your solution! Addendem: regarding the very thin strip of light along the top, i.e. between the top edge of the blind and the window casing. You can see this in my photo. I have since fixed this. I put black pipe cleaners in this gap. They are just the right size, barely visible, and better than white since they absorb light.

Works very well but you have to be specific as directions suggested
These are great and the installation is so easy ! One of our windows (for the bedroom ) is shallow so I had to apply the sticker side v v v close to the edge of the frame and add the window blocking piece a little forward so that my blinds can go up and down easier. (My blinds are slightly big for the frame) - just Make sure your measure the depth of your window shade - see pic. The other window is really deep - and my husband applied it too far from the shade (he also applied to edge of window sill) so there is a little bit of a gap. So now we have to move the piece back so it blocks more light which shows the magnetic black piece. This works great though and the fact that it is magnetic allows us to be flexible with the blind placement is fantastic. Would recommend if the slits of light bother you !

Blocks The Light, Installs Fast
I am having the same issue as Rox (2018). They install very easy, but when I peeled the tape off and went to line it up on the wall it instantly stuck too far out on the bottom half. I went to remove it quickly thinking I could reposition and the paint was coming off with it. I immediately stopped and just left them where they were. It totally blocks out the light, I just wish I could have gotten them a little closer to the shade, it would have looked nicer. I won't be removing it though unless I want to paint the whole frame. Be aware of that. Maybe I should have peeled down halfway and positioned and then remove the rest. Ahhh hindsight. Anyway, I think they work as intended and really easy to install over all. Time will tell if they continue to adhere. I do think they cost too much though, but I had to get 2 sets 72" long. So far I think they're great and being that they seem to be the only company out there that has anything like this (I like the fact that you can remove the L shape strip to open the windows), they are worth buying.

These Side Tracks are a godsend for a bright bedroom!
We got blackout shades for our bedroom, not realizing the sizable deduction in width taken by the shade manufacturer would result in a 1/4 inch gap on both sides. To make matters worse, that side of the house has more light in the morning than expected. It truly made it difficult to sleep past 5am, my husband 'the mole' was miserable. I started researching which blinds used the least deduction and was going to reorder new blinds with tighter tolerances. This would have cost us $475 for 3 windows, but since all inside mount shades need some clearance to work, we weren't sure this would solve the problem. Fortunately, I saw a comment about Side Tracks for the 'gap issue', which led me to the Sleepy Time Side Tracks on Amazon. The cost for our 3 windows was $130 - not cheap - but if they worked it would be worth it. Well they are AWESOME! They work exactly as described and look good too. We no longer dread daylight. : ) Note: the double hung windows went as expected, for the casement window with a crank at the bottom, we had to set the tracks out a bit more to clear the crank. Having the shade down when marking for the tracks should account for this. Bottom line, we like these so much we ordered side tracks for our guest bedroom. This is a great product that really fills a need!

I am impressed!
Buying these was a bit of a gamble bc they're a new product and there weren't many reviews. I'll start by saying I bought these full price-- I didn't get the product free or discounted and I'm not a paid reviewer. I'm just a mom who values sleep and swear by a blacked out room to help children sleep! My previous solution for this was aluminum foil and it was far less than convenient. Installation was very simple and so far I'm impressed with the adhesion. You can see from the pics there is definite light blockage from them. My tip is to install blackout roller shades "backwards" so that the roller shade is further from the window glass (and can get closer to the sleepy time tracks). I tried both ways and the "backwards" installation of the roller shades was def better. I'm going to have to get something for the bottom of the shades along the window sill bc the roller shades are just too short or just too long to block out the bottom. I would guess another sleepy time track would actually work! I have the maximum possible blackout roller shades ($36 at Home Depot) and blinds down over top of everything. If you're on the fence about these, I highly doubt you will be disappointed with your purchase if you choose to buy them.

They work well but I can't afford as many as I need.
I'm surprised these aren't more widely available. In fact, I'm surprised the two-sided tape isn't sticking directly to the strip. I needed these since the shades leave a gap at the edges (and next door currently has painters on scaffolding looking in). It's not a huge problem but being able to shut out more light and more snooping is good. One suggestion I would give is to put a small hole toward the top and one toward the bottom of the strip so if we wanted to, we could screw in a small screw to hold this more securely over time. I know, I can and will do it but it would have just been nice to have already drilled small holes. Nov. 2020--have had two of these up now for a while and they do block out light coming in on the side of the blinds. However, the magnet band is fairly weak. When I have to move the venetian blinds to open the windows, they push the Side Tracks off the magnet. I wish they'd put one hole toward the top and one toward the bottom so if the buyer wanted to install it a little more permanently, we could. Also, with time the magnet seems to be getting weaker.

Excellent!
We have an east facing window. We get beautiful sunrises. But we also get woken up way too early in the summer because of it. Prior to adding these, we'd installed blackout film and shades on the upper windows. And had blackout blinds and curtains on the ones we can reach. The sun was still waking us up. I installed these Sleepy Time Tracks this last weekend to block out the cracks between the shades and the window frame. The room is so much darker now that it's tough to get up in the mornings. That's not a bad problem. It's great to not have to get up with the sun anymore. They were easy to cut and install, too. I also want to commend the seller with their excellent packaging. Great product all around!

Fantastic
EDIT, July 28, 2022: Over two years later there's still no discernable damage or brittleness from UV light despite being in a 3rd story window that receives a lot of direct sunlight. I just pulled these down to clean and I realized they seem to be holding up really well given how much UV and heat they take. I'm really glad that I can sleep a little later without the sun waking me up early. Original Review: Huge improvement. I didn't want to have black adhesive tape on my window sills so I peeled part of it off and replaced it with 3M Command Velcro strips. I realize this is completely off-label but I wanted to try it and I am satisfied with the result. I would recommend doing that if you are concerned with having the magnetic strip on your windows for perpetuity. The inside part is FLAT black, not glossy as others have mentioned and also the material is a heavy rubbery-like plastic, not just cheap plastic. Another reviewer mentioned ordering the L channel and making your own, but after shipping costs that was over $80! So this is actually the more cost effective option. I can see that if you were going to make 100 of these that it could be done cheaper, but you arent going to be able to do that yourself and save any money.

Works Exactly as Promoted
You know when you succumb to marketing spin and are disappointed with a product? Well this isn't it. It works exactly as promoted. We have brand new windows and new window coverings and were disappointed with the light that comes in the side of our new blinds. Depending on the time of year the light falls directly on my face while sleeping, even with the blinds closed. I tried to live with it, but kept looking for a solution and stumbled on this. We didn't want to damage our new window frames. My husband cut the strips down to size, peeled the tape off the magnet and taped it to the window frame and then magnetically attached the flange piece. The end result looks very professional. I hardly ever write reviews, but this product deserves to be recognized.

Not worth the price
These are way overpriced for what you get: I could make something like these for under $20 with corner stripping and magnets. The magnets it came with were weak, and it seemed one had the wrong polarization since the strips wouldn't overlap and stick completely. Another problem is that these will only work if they are sitting flush with your blinds. If your blinds are even 0.5 cm from the strip, light will leak through. In other words, if you have blinds that are mounted a certain way or your window frame has molding that isn't completely flat from window to outer frame, these are useless. I would say that these are ok strictly for roller blinds that have top mounts (NOT side mounts) and are at least 1.5 inches from your window. Otherwise, don't bother. That said, they do help a bit, but not enough to make the price worth it.

Excellent edge blackout.
It blocks out 99% of the light. And it is a cheaper option that buying it from a professional company who would charge at least double the price. I wish I found it sooner!
