What size yarn for the wooden one and how tall are the loops? On the plastic one what size yarns can you use and how tall and short can the loops be?

I’d recommend worsted weight or another mid-weight yarn but with this set, it’ll break before you get that far. Both of the tools in mine broke swiftly and I’m gentle with my tools. I ended up getting both an Oxford tool for mid-to-larger weight yarns and also an Ultra Punch Needle tool for fingering and lighter weight, more detailed works. Both aren't too sharp, as long as you supervise it should be okay. Even the sewing needles you get are pretty blunt.

Great for starting out

This is a great all-inclusive set if you want to get into punch-needling! I will say I have not used everything, but it is good that it comes with a lot of tools. Plus having two needles is very convenient, as one is adjustable so you can decide your size and the other is the typical one. I appreciate that it came with some fabric as well.
