What is MAX Mode, and when should I use it?

MAX Mode records the highest gas level detected over time. This helps you track peak CO exposure from sources such as car exhaust or chimneys. Press the MAX button to activate; an arrow appears above “MAX” when it’s on.

Do I need a pump, and can I mount the Inspector on a wall?

You don’t need a pump but it helps sample air in tight spots. Sensorcon offers kits with the Inspector, case, and pump. Since the alarm is quieter than typical CO detectors, clip it to your clothing or carry it instead of mounting on a wall.

How does the Inspector differ from regular CO detectors, and can other gases affect readings?

Unlike traditional CO detectors that alarm after high CO, the Inspector shows real-time ppm above 35. It’s compact, durable, & affordable. Hydrogen can cause false readings (~10-15% of its level), but methane & small alcohol amounts don’t affect it.
