It draws a lot of wattage and can cause me having to hook it up to the trickle charger from time to time with short rides. I got fed up with it and talked to Daniel Stern about a proper LED headlight that would fit this bike. He suggested the Philips and it works great! It was easy to set it up and did an alignment with an old mechanical headlight aimer. Very bright light, but not enough to cause bad glare for you or other drivers when properly aimed. Average amp draw is drastically reduced when checked with an ammeter. Before I was getting about 5-6A draw on average, now it's about 2-3A. Breakeven charging is around ~1800RPM with headlight on. Battery is always around ~13V charged after a ride. Very impressed with this headlight. It's expensive, but it's worth the money! Review: Good quality unit with a very good beam.
