B4603T MYQ Smart Garage Door Opener, Ultra Quiet Belt Drive, 3/4-HP Motor - Quantity 1

Chamberlain B4603T is much quieter than old traditional chain opener. I liked the myQ app very much. You download the app and it shows detailed animation and diagram how to install guide. I think you could install it yourself. It was compatible with my old garage door(lift master security +), so no need to replace the railing nor bracket on the ceiling of the garage. It has high quality build and strong horse power to work with 2 car garage door easy. It is wired to the house electric, so no worries for battery. You can download app on your phone, and open the garage door while you are on a vacation far away from home when Amazon delivery drop off your important items. It also came with 2 remotes which you can keep inside your cars. I got a control panel installed outside, and you can open by putting your pass cord. It works really well, and I am quite happy with this purchase.

I’ve installed a number of garage door openers in the past so I found the installation fairly straight forward just using the enclosed installation manual. However, the built in LED light didn’t work. In looking through the manual under ‘troubleshooting’ the instructions for addressing this were not at all detailed (see the photo). In looking at the opener it’s not at all obvious either as to what needs to be done “to remove the cover”. I reached out to Chamberlain customer support and they were very helpful. They ended up sending me a new light assembly (which encompasses most of the bottom of the unit, see photos). Included with the new light were more detailed instructions on how to remove the old light assembly. After taking out the screws and lowering the old light assemble, the wire connection came apart – clearly they weren’t connected tightly in assembly. Connecting the wires fixed the issue and I have an extra LED light if the original fails. By the way – if you need more detailed instructions on removing the light assembly do a Google search on the part number: 041-0203-000. From there, click on the chamberlain link to the part, which has a link to the instructions. As to how the opener works: I love it. It’s very quiet and works very smoothly. The MyQ app was fairly easy to setup and works well. The light though is somewhat underwhelming, at least in my specific situation, in that it shines on the back wall of the garage. My door to the house is on the side wall, more towards the front of the garage, so there’s not a lot of light that shines on it. I think having an adjustable light (one that could be pointed to where you want it) would be ideal. In the end, I’ll give this 4 stars: Great mechanicals, very smooth and quiet but the light is a bit of a disappointment. Edit: I was able to rotate the light 180 degrees and have it point to the garage door, thus better light the entrance to my house. See the last picture. Much improved, will up to 5 stars. Chamberlain should outline the steps for this in their manual!

My previous garage door opener had a recurring issue with the chain jamming so I replaced it with this one. It's very quiet and works well. MYQ means it can work from your phone over wireless networks so you can command it to open before the house is in sight. It also means that it can be used with Amazon deliveries so packages can be left safe in the garage instead of on the porch. I was a little hesitant to allowing access to my garage but I installed with a MYQ compatible camera and MYQ door lock to alleviate my security paranoia. The camera records the garage as the door opens when the Amazon delivery driver uses a one time delivery code to command the garage open. The lock on the door to the house will self-lock when the driver sends the code to open the garage and then will unlock again after the garage has closed. I can see all this happen on my phone and have alerts sent as well. Basic MYQ functionality is free but storing videos has a subscription fee and is necessary if you want to actually catch the video in time (starting the app, selecting the display, and the video beginning to stream). There are versions of the garage door opener with a built in camera. I paid to have this installed by a local company I used before and the install price was reasonable.

So far, so good. Unit was installed in early Sept 2025 and we’ve not had problems with it. The external lock box has performed consistently even thru our sub-zero winter. The door closure is fast and quiet. We did replace the 10 rollers, tho, and that really reduced the noise. Note: the rollers aren’t included with the unit so it is an extra cost. Worth it, in our opinion. The interior light is LED, very bright, and reliable. The only reason we ranked it 4 is because this unit replaced a unit that lasted for 20 years. We hope to update this review with a 5 rank in 20 years.

Great Option - Quiet, Easy Install

Replaced a 17 year old Craftsman unit. The BILT app has 3D video showing each step including safety instructions. Since I had a Craftsman, the wall and ceiling brackets all lined up making replacement a breeze. The powerful 3/4 HP motor and belt drive replaced a chain and 1/2 HP. The sound is so much quieter and the unit slows down as it reaches the floor- unlike the old unit which slammed at times. Tip- watch the video a few steps ahead and use rotating features on app to see if left for your assembly is left on your parts. If you mess up plugged in metal bars, you can bend all the tabs that locked a fitting together to pull out a bar. Definitely helps to have two people raise the unit into place. Instructions say you can place unit on a ladder, but a person is better. I used bungee cords to help suspend the unit from ceiling just in case it slipped. Great unit. My Q install was quick so you can monitor doors from cell phone. Ever wonder if you closed a door? This eliminates the stress.

Just spent an entire day taking down an old garage door opener and installing this one. Kind of a pain in the butt because of my low ceiling, but doable. Plug it in though: no power to the sensors, no power to the corded opener. Awesome. Private equity meets legacy corporation strikes again. So I dial an overseas call center and she knows exactly what's wrong (almost like this happens all the time). She says I can either dismantle the entire thing for an even exchange — no kickback for the trouble — or she can send out "the brain" of the unit and I can install it myself. So now I'm basically manufacturing my own goods and services. But I'll have to wait 10-14 days for the part to arrive, of course. I'm sure everyone else sees it too, but if you're replacing a 22 year old thing with a newer thing the difference in manufacturing quality is blatantly obvious. It's too bad the previous homeowner took such bad care of the existing opener because it probably could have kept going for years. This one I'll be shocked if it makes it past 5, even after I have to manually replace a defective yet important component right out the box. Everything feels and looks cheap. But I don't want to take it down and waste another day with another unit. So whatever. Also knowing Blackstone's in charge of Chamberlain now, I definitely won't be buying any of their products ever again simply because of that. Had I not went to Google for their phone number I probably never would have seen that headline lol What a shame.

Had this installed 4 months ago and it’s been flawless. It’s a quiet and powerful option for a standard 2 car garage opening.

El motor es sumamente silencioso , su lampara muy buena y su diseño muy diferente. Mi unico problema por el tipo de porton y la distribucion no pude usar tira que contiene y coloque cadena tradicional.

Lleva una semana instalado y de momento opera muy bien. Lo instaló un profesional en un portón que abre hacia fuera, solo hizo unas pequeñas modificaciones agregando 2 perfiles para empujar cada hoja del portón, abre y cierra de manera muy rápida y silenciosa. Como dicen en otros comentarios, en la aplicación aparece inverso el estatus por el tipo de portones que comúnmente usamos en México; cuando está abierto indica que está cerrado, y cuando está cerrado indica que está abierto, no sé si se pueda modificar pero no representa ningún problema. Parece que ha sido muy buena compra, para los que dudan en usarlo en México anímense, solo consigan un buen instalador ya que es algo distinto a los tradicionales.

Funciona perfecto , solo me hubiera gustado que se integre con google o alexa, en México no tenemos esas opciones y como es importado no se puede sincronizar con prime. Dato adicional, la función en México está al revés dado que nuestros portones no son de cortina, cuando abres el portón para el motor es cerrar y cuando lo cierras para ellos es abrir. Incluso la app te dice que lleva abierto horas.

Todo bien. La instalación la tiene que hacer un experto o alguien con habilidades para hacerlo, pues tiene muchas cosas que se tiene que armar con precisión y hacer algunos ajustes de acuerdo a tu espacio.

Tenía buenas expectativas hasta que llegó el momento de configurar la apertura y el cierre. Después de más de 20 intentos logré que no me marcara error. Funcionó bien dos semanas y luego "olvidó" los límites y la banda dentada brincando el engrane del motor hizo un ruido espantoso a las 4 de la mañana. Había que repetir la configuración constantemente y esperar a que decidiera no marcar error. Ahora ya no se pueden establecer los límites y parece tener voluntad propia. Voy a regresar al motor viejo que reemplacé y que trabajó bien por más de 10 años. Mencioné que una vez se abrió solo y dejo mi casa expuesta todo el día?. Definitivamente fué una mala inversión.
