OMT 24pc Brake Caliper Compression Tool with Adapters & Hangers, Sandblast

I purchased the Orion Motor Tech 24pc Brake Caliper Compression Tool Set because I work on multiple vehicles and wanted a kit that could handle different brake jobs. This set has worked great for what I needed. The variety of adapters is a big plus because I can use it on more than one vehicle instead of needing different tools for each one. It makes replacing brake pads and compressing the caliper pistons much easier. The tools feel sturdy, everything fits nicely in the blue storage case, and it keeps all the pieces organized so I’m not searching for parts when I need them. For anyone who likes doing their own maintenance or works on several vehicles, this kit is definitely worth having. It has already saved me time and money by letting me do brake jobs myself.

I used this tool kit on a 2015 Dodge Journey. It made doing my rear brakes so much easier. It’s almost impossible to do them without this tool. There are multiple adapters for many makes and models. Some calipers turn clockwise and some counter clockwise, this kit can do both. I’m pleased with the versatility and quality. The price was very good too.

I was preparing to do a rear brake job on my 2017 Toyota Corolla SE. I watched a few videos online and noticed the caliper piston would need to be rotated (not just pushed) back into position. I saw a video where someone pushed/rotated it using a pair of needle nose pliers. I am no stranger to brake jobs, so I debated on whether I needed this tool, but did not want to get the calipers disassembled only to discover I needed it. Well, I am glad I bought it. When I had the caliper apart, I tried first using the needle nose plier method that I had seen online. Absolute No Go. I couldn't exert enough downward force and keep the pliers in place to rotate the piston. The pliers would skid off, every time. This kit was so easy to use. There aren't any instructions that come with it, but look up a few videos online on how to use it and it should be pretty simple for you to pick up. The kit comes with a right hand and left hand tool, depending on which way you have to rotate your piston. For my corolla, both driver and passenger side caliper pistons rotated clockwise (RH). Just a tip from me, once you use the hand crank to rotate it, you will need to keep adjusting the part that adjusts the backing plate to the caliper. This is so you will maintain your gains as you push the caliper back into place. Once the caliper will not depress any further, rotate the piece that holds the backing plate the opposite way to remove the tool from the caliper. Overall the kit appears to be well made and worth the money I paid for it. The case holding the kit was a little banged up, presumably from the shipping/freight companies, but all the pieces are intact and fit where they are supposed to. Would buy this again if I needed to, but hopefully this will last a long time.

The set arrived and seems very comprehensive with a multitude of adapter plates to fit a variety of vehicles. Will it fit everything out there - probably not. But as the description itself even says, there is a good chance you'll find an adapter for most American, Japanese or European models. While Mazda wasn't explicitly listed anywhere in the manual, a quick review of the adapter plates identified a match for the calipers I was working with. Usage instructions are a bit vague. Video from the product page was quite a bit more helpful in assembling/using this tool than the paper manual that was included. Not saying the manual wasn't entirely accurate, but it left a bit to the imagination on a couple of the steps. Once you know how it all goes together and works, the tool itself is quite helpful and easy to use. One complaint would be the relatively thin T-handle used to twist the caliper piston back into place. Due to the size and material, this handle can easily bend if you need to put a lot of torque into moving the piston. Would be nicer to have a beefier handle that could hold up better. Plastic case is also on the thin side with a "cheap" feel to it. Just based on feel, it doesn't seem as though it will last terribly long if this is a tool that gets frequent use. For rare to occasional use, it will probably be fine. It is rather nice that there is a labeled place for everything to fit. If the case holds up, it will be great from an organizational standpoint. Overall, the tool worked well, and is likely something I won't use often, but will be nice to have if/when I do. For the price, it saves a lot of aggravation trying to make another tool work with some of these caliper designs the require the piston to be twisted rather than just compressed.

This is a good kit to have for working on your own car brakes. It has many adapters that allows you to find the right fit. It has instructions and guide for what fits your Make/model car but you may find that you have to use your own good sense to find the adapter that fits. This make it much easier to compress the caliper piston, instead of using a c-clamp that never fits correctly. It is easy to use and definitely oil the threads, rubbing surfaces when using it.

I bought this kit to work on my vehicles' brakes, and it exceeded my expectations. All the adapters fit correctly, making the job much faster and easier. The case keeps the parts well-organized, and the tools feel solid and high-quality. It still works perfectly after several uses. It was definitely an excellent purchase, and I would recommend it to anyone who does their own brake maintenance.

I’ve really enjoyed using this caliper tool kit—it’s been a great value so far! I’ve done about five brake jobs with it, and it’s performed beautifully every time. The only small hiccup is that the magnets can break off pretty easily; you can see one missing on the right in the video. If the magnets are a must-have for you, you might want to skip it, but it hasn’t bothered me at all. Overall, it’s still a fantastic kit!

Worked perfect for doing rear brakes on 2017 ford escape. Seams like decent made tools/parts. Worked flawlessly.
