I haven’t even been taking this a week, and I had an infection in my body that has completely cleared up. Some people say you need to get used to the taste. I think it’s delicious. It’s way better if you heat up some milk and put you a big old scoop in it, but you can also do it with water if you’re trying to conserve calories. I think everybody needs this product. My allergies are gone too.

This has an interesting flavor. It's sweet and though hubs isn't too fond of it I like it. It supposed to help keep the immune system healthy and strong. However, I don't really know if it does or not, but I've only had one, short lasting cold since starting this. I don't eat it everyday though - usually only when I see it in the fridge and think, "Hey! I should eat some of that!".

Chyavanprash is one of Ayurveda's most treasured foods. It is used as a general food to nourish the entire system, but in particular the nervous system. It is also an adaptogen which helps the body cope with stress, and an immune modulator. It is safe for all ages. It can be consumed year around. I take mine at bedtime, mixed into a mug full of warm water, as it will curdle milk. This particular brand is excellent. It dissolves readily and it is delicious. The taste includes all 5 flavors. If you are not accustomed to Indian spices you may find the flavor distasteful at first, but it will grow on you and the benefits of this product will want you to continue taking it. I find that this product, specially in the winter is very calming and seems to take the brittleness out of my skin. I order 6 jars at a time as it keeps a long long time without going bad. I found a jar in the back of my pantry that was dried out due to careless sealing on my part. I added a little water, and it reconstituted itself. It was fine, no difference from a new jar. The expiration date is for the benefit of the FDA. In India there are no expiration dates on products. Don't throw out your product if it goes beyond the expiration date. It is still safe.

This is an awesome product. It's ayurvedice in nature and a good way to get some good nutrients into your system and start your day. You can't beat the price and has excellent taste. Listen to the other reviews. It was manufactured two years ago and only two months left on the expiration day. It tasted like perfume or incense. It looked gross also. I noticed the date afterwards. This does not taste like what I'm used to. I just tried this brand for the first time. It also has preservatives that shouldn't be in there.

This stuff is really delicious and good for you. Its thick, moist, warmly spicy, mildly sweet and is just loaded with layers of flavors both familiar and exotic. I can't say I have yet noticed specific benefits of using it, but in the range of possible food choices, this one tastes great, soothes an upset stomach, and is a healthy choice for a treat. A teaspoon of this after meals satisfies my craving for sweets and does a significant job of making the taste in my mouth really nice. I was thinking this would a be a delicious filling for a sophisticated fruit biscuit cookie, like those flat cookies filled with pureed raisins, or maybe even as a filling for Rugelach. The Darbur brand is good quality and not as sweet as some other brands (but not at all bitter, either). Spread on toast in the morning with some tea! A great start to day.
