What is the difference between abs and abs+?

ABS+ contains ABS and a small amount of other plastics. This helps keep warping to a minimum and allows you to print at lower chamber temperatures. Other than thay, it behaves exactly like ABS, just easier to print.

Can the finished model be polished?

Yes, anything can be polished. You can even use Acetone to smooth beforehand. If you are unfamiliar with acetone smoothing, please google before giving it a go.
