Do slow and controlled reps. Alternatively, you can hold the Python in its compressed position until exhaustion. Incorporate the power twister exercise at the end of your upper-body or chest workouts so that your chest and arms aren’t fatigued when performing other exercises.

Review: I wish I had this years ago - First of all, let's talk about how compact this thing is. Its just a long cylander shape, and it takes up barely any space. So if you're in a small apartment, a dorm, or at work, this is perfect. But the most important thing at the end of the day is going to be how well it works. I can say that after a week of using this daily, it works great! Its a perfect way to tone your chest and biceps. The exact area you workout is all going to depend on the angle you bend it, how far away from your chest it is, and the height you bend it at. Its also great if you just want to do some targeted bicep curls if you're into that. In terms of overall resistance, I find this one to be great for entry level, but you may want to get one with more resistance if you're already ripped. Personally, I combine this with the Fitlaya Upper Body workout bar. The fitlaya I find is better for your shoulders and back, plus you can use it for a low impact easy on the lower back ab workout. Then use this for the rest of your upper body. Between both of these tools I haven't used my Bowflex dumbells in forever. Lastly, I would say that if you use this specific equipment, then make sure to wear wrist guards if you're just starting to workout. Bad wrist and forearm posture will definitely hurt your wrists in the long run, and you can easily land a lasting injury if you go too big too quick without the proper form.

However, when I use it to do bicep curls, amazingly, I can bring the handles to within 6 inches of each other. I'm 69 and weight only 154 lbs.!! This is the arm position where I have the greatest leverage to exert maximum strength and build or tone muscle. So you might say, well that's just biceps. Wrong! Yes, you are doing biceps, but in order to bend the handles of this Power Twister to within 6 inches of each other, your wrists, forearms, biceps, shoulders, and back muscles are ALL WORKING in unison and getting stronger. The stronger all those body parts get the more you'll be able to move around to other points in space. Remember, find your leverage point and stay there because all your upper body muscles are working. And remember to contract your stomach muscles to get them strong too in the process. And don't forget to exhale when you exert and inhale when releasing. Awesome piece of equipment if you use it correctly. I recommend this purchase unconditional. Buy it you won't regret it.

**Q: Does it work your lower chest?  Does it strengthen your forearms and wrists?**
A: I hope so.  After my workouts with the Python, I have primarily experienced soreness primarily at the inside of my pecs & in my wrists & forearms.  I'm inexperienced with exercise equipment, but I can say that with the Python, it's easy to get angles that end up working the shoulders & delts.  But with some experimentation, I've been able to target my chest better than with any other exercise I've tried so far.

**Q: How do you hold this to exercise the chest?**
A: Hold it out with arms straight and use it,it's a bit awkward until you can handle it right. Move it in closer to your chest and it will work different muscles that way. I noticed a difference in about a week. I do about 30 reps rest do 30 to 35 more then rest and then I max out as many as I can you will feel the burn. I slowly release it before I bend it again it keeps resistance and gives better results. I start closer to my chest after straight arm. You can hold it over your head and work your shoulders I do the same reps as my chest and I can tell the results. I also noticed that standing with your legs a little past shoulder length has built my thighs up and my beer gut is even being worked and now I can see the top muscles that make up a sixpack starting to show some. I go two to three days then rest one and start over. I am on no diet,yet, and still have been losing weight and shrinking my stomach. I found a diet i am going to try that you do for 7 days and they say you can lose 10 pounds but no exercises during the 7 days. You will be very happy with this item I am very glad I bought it.

**Q: What's the max resistance?**
A: The Max Resistance is: 100 lbs. with both hands on the inside. However be aware that it really is: 50 lbs. each hand * 2 hands = 100 lbs. total. Not 100 lbs. each hand like I thought it would be!   So if you are doing curls it is only 50 lbs. each hand...

**Q: My question is if your doing flys for chest is the 80lbs 40lbs of resistance per arm or 80lbs of resistance per arm?**
A: If you move your hands closer to the spring the resistance is highest, probably 80 each arm.  Farther out towards the end it would be the lowest.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent

Not as good as my last one (tbh no clue what brand it even was) but it's decent. Got mid-size due to complaints about the heavy one being weaker. Makes a metal creaking noise when bent. It looks like there's a tiny spring inside the bigger one. Will update if it breaks. Seems good quality.
