Great product—Here’s the truth about what you get
There’s a lot of misinformation in the Q & A. The attached photos show what you get. This is called the “Stingray Classic” and is made for motors 40 HP and above. It bolts on with four stainless steel bolts which are included. You will have to drill four holes in your outboard or stern drive. I’ve included a photo of my stern drive with the four holes drilled. The color of this looks almost black, especially when in the package. After taking it out, the color is really a very dark grey. It works really well and makes a big difference in how the boat performs.

Does what it says it will do
This for sure helped get our 22' cabin cruiser on plane a lot faster and eliminated prop blow out when trimming up. Did not notice any loss in top speed. Installation on a Alpha one drive is a bit tricky as you cannot fit a drill over the top and must drill up from the bottom.

Should be on every boat.
I've used these on two boats, and it really adds a level of safety by ensuring you don't get excessive bow-rise during acceleration which blocks your view. This does a great job lifting the back of the boat to get on plane quickly and adds speed by not dragging a heavy stern. Best boat accessory you can install.

too big for 50hp
too much drag for a 50hp 4 stroke- trade off is a lot of stability. But I I do not like the extra cost of gas.. I'd guess better for 90hp and up! Expecially with these gas prices.

I had one of these on my old boat and it worked Fantastic!! When I installed this on the 150 Merc Black Max I had on my Ranger 340V it went from planing out in around 80 yards to planing out in about 40 yards. Really increased my hole shot. I am installing this on my sons 150 Johnson Fast Strike on the Javelin 389 SDC he just bought. The boat only had 55 hrs on it. Can't wait to see his reaction on how much it helps. Thanks

ON PONTOON
Put this on my old pontoon that lacks electric trim in an effort to get the boat to plane better. It does help my 18ft pontoon get on plane better depending on how many people are on the boat. It does seem to have hurt my gas mileage some and possibly my speed but only by about 1-2 mph but that doesn't bother me. It does help the boat plane better but doesn't solve it all. If there's more than 1 or 2 somewhat bigger guys on the boat with me it doesn't make a whole lot of difference.

Best wing for the price, period!
Bought this as a replacement for an older model of the same Stingray (boat got away and hit the garage!) Having used this for years on a few different hulls that are prone to heavy cavitation (zodiac, livingston, etc..) I can honestly say this thing is a miracle! If its your first and you're thinking about buying one look no further. Sure there are $100+ models out there that look all spiffy and sharp and claim to be THIS MUCH better than the competition... I've been on boats with those (there is NO negligible difference). As far as colors go the "Gray" is actually DARK GRAY so it would match the older mercury/mariner type and maybe even Yamaha but is a bit too dark for a Honda outboard (if you're a woman that needs to be all matchy-matchy).

Hole shot is back!
My 15 ft dingy with a 70 horse 4-stroke Yamaha tended to go bow up during initial acceleration ( hole shot) . This fin totally cured that problem. Recommended
