Easy to work with, nice hold down stakes

bought these for my roof top camper on my truck. I bought these for loose soils and sands. Pain in the butt to hand screw in. Bring a cordless drill and adapter. Otherwise you will be there for hours putting in 8 anchors. With my drill it took longer to unscrew bolt eyes and run it down and reattach eyes by hand for one then it did to put all 8 in by drill. Used this on tent and awning in up to 20 mph winds with occasional gusts up to 30 for 3 days. NO problems with it being pulled up or bent. these are painted cheaply, It scratches off easily and metal is basically a magnet for rust.

No way a drill will put these in avg soil. I even tried a large hammer drill it was a no go. That hammer drill is so strong it will mix a 5 gallon bucket full of thinset and if it catches it will throw you. So the fantasy of using your battery drill to screw this in the ground is a joke. Second, the easier to put it in the easier to pull it out. If you use a socket wrench and your full body weight and a lot of power to drive it in the ground it will easier hold down 200 lbs of force but it depends on the how dense the soil is. If the soild is dense, installing it will be a huge pain in the butt. If your Home Depot battery drill can install it, you could pull it out with your hand. If you need to hold down something large and do it over and over, this type of solution is poor. An old school post driver and T stakes are easy and will hold down far more. These are fine for small garden projects. You could dig a 12" hole and bury them. In 30 days, they will be solid in the ground.

Used these for a gazebo in Florida. Super easy to install. Grips the ground good. The black color doesn’t rust or stand out. They are the perfect length for what I needed. Worth every penny to protect a very expensive gazebo.

If your soil is hard and rocky, get the spiral kind instead. The blade on these ones bends back flat as soon as it hits a rock, rendering it useless. I bent it back as it was originally but the now weakened metal bends right away when trying to drill back in the soil.

They are exactly what is advertised, 3/8" diameter rod is about as light as I would want to go. They screwed into the ground with ease with my 1/4" drill driver. The threads on the eyelet and rod coupling were actually good quality. Good product decent price.
