Reliable jump starter
I've owned this JNC770R for about 18 months and it's been completely reliable. Used it on my 2010 Honda Accord several times when I left lights on, and helped neighbors with trucks and SUVs. The 1700 peak amps handles everything I've encountered. The 68" cables give great reach - you can easily position the unit on the ground while reaching the battery. The digital voltage display is genuinely useful for checking battery health before attempting a jump. Heavy-duty clamps grip securely even in cold weather. It's definitely heavy at 23 pounds, but that's the trade-off for real power and reliability. The built-in charger makes maintenance simple - I charge it every few months and it holds charge remarkably well through temperature variations. One thing I appreciate: the way it maintains consistent power delivery reminds me of working with convolution algorithms in my day job - you want reliable output regardless of input variations. This unit does that beautifully. Whether it's been sitting idle for months or used recently, whether it's 20ยฐF or 90ยฐF, it just works. My friend Nova likes to say that the best tools are the ones that work when everything else fails. This jump starter has proven that principle repeatedly. Highly recommended for anyone wanting serious jump-starting capability without relying on another person's vehicle. Pros: Powerful, reliable, excellent cables, useful voltage display, holds charge well Cons: Heavy (but worth it for the power)

My favorite 12v jump box thus far
I've seen a lot of YouTubers using jump boxes from this brand and decided since I'm always working on things, I'd like to have one too. I pikced this particular version because it has a voltage readout which comes in handy. For example when working on the charging system of my mini excavator, I hooked this up and noticed that the charging system wasn't working. Troubleshooting the problem revealed a blown fuse. I replaced the fuse and immediately after, I saw the voltage rising to around 14.2 volts on the display. Saved me from having to go grab a meter. It also comes in handy to simply know the charge state. This is not a lightweight jump box. It's relatively heavy, but is well made and has performed perfectly for the year I've owned it. Another thing I use it for is when I need 12 volts for testing motors or other accessories. Again, flawless performance. It also holds charge very well. I've charged it once in the last year. I'm sure I'll get many more years of service out of this jump box. While it's not dirt cheap by any means, I think the value you get for the money is really solid.

Jumpstarts the totally dead batteries
This thing is a beast- itโs heavy but it will jump start the completely dead battery with no effort whatsoever.. I have it hooked up so itโs on charge but it shuts itself off and manages its own charging requirements so itโs always ready to go.

This is the one. Don't buy something else.
This is it. A no nonsense jump starter that just works. It is just rock solid. I made the mistake of buying that yellow one from a big name brand I (thought) I trusted, but it died and failed miserably when trying to help someone try to start their car. I went from hero to smuck. It showed a full charge too. "That company" replaced it quickly, but after that I never trusted it again. When you need this thing, you really need it. I just can't risk it not working. I bought that yellow one because it has an air compressor. I still use it on tires :). I have a couple of the lithium ion ones I keep in cars I almost never drive as a just in case thing. I keep the Clore in my driver. The downside (I guess) is that it is a beast. The long cables and simple operation are great .. it just weighs a ton. I mostly keep it to help others start dead cars. I am older than dirt and for some reason people think old guys keep jumper cables in their car (well, I used to) and am frequently approached with "hey, do you have jumper cables". I live in an economically depressed area and it's all too common. I also keep a "battery kit" in the car to remove and clean battery cables, because as you may know 90% of the time the battery is good, but the cables are so corroded the alternator can't charge it. Long post, but if you are thinking about buying a jump starter and can find a place in your car for this behemoth get this over one of those little lithium ion things .. or that yellow one that may or may not work.

Reliable
Solid and well built. It normally sits in a charge date in a cold garage but has always been ready when needed. I've had to use it twice and it's worked great both times. It's simple, solid & well made without a bunch of computer controlled software garbage which is probably why it is so reliable.

Open The Box as Soon as ti Arrrives !!!
First, one thing I have learned is when you get something from Amazon, open it and check it promptly regardless of when you will actually need to use it or gift it. I opened the box for my new battery charger and as soon as the top was open, I saw the light! The light on the top / front of the charger was on with the plastic bag still around the entire unit. The light switch is recessed and has to be held in to turn the light on so, it did not get turned on in shipping. That being said I don't know if this was a New unit or one someone returned with the light on and it was never checked. The manual says it comes fully charged in one place and in another says to charge it for 24 hours before the first use. I plugged it in, and the "charging" notice showed up on the panel and the voltage was just over 11 volts. So, it is charging for the 24 hours and hopefully when I need it to work, it will. The good news is it is a really bright light and it didn't get hot enough, before I opened it, to set the plastic and box on fire. I had previously owned the JNC 660, which I bought in 2011 and it worked great until last Thursday when I went to turn on my car to meet some friends for golf and it was dead and could not be returned to life. So, really can't complain but make sure you chasrge it on a regular basis. You can sign up wiht the manufacturer and they will send you reminders to do a recharge on a regular basis. Nice touch since you really dont't think much about it until you need it to save your batt.

It's a power beast!
Out of the box, it's jumped a Cummins 3x in a row, a Honda Element 1x, a Ford 6.2 Gas 2x, and a 60's Massey Ferguson 202 tractor multiple times. It showed 11.8v as of today after multiple attempts to get the tractor running. I like that it's simple. Just a nice, slim jump pack, no air compressor, or other secondary function. The angled tip clamps are far more useful than I thought they would be. As a power bank for devices, this is great for car, canoe, or other conveyance type camping, but it's size and weight make it impractical for hiking or backpacking, which is fair since that is not what this was designed for. Great all around booster/power bank that focusses on just being a great power supply with easy to use and understand controls. Good power with a quick delivery. Very minimal ramping up to full power delivery, so great for starts in cold weather. I highly recommend it.

Good customer service
The first unit I received was defective. I contacted the company to request a refund, but they offered to replace the product instead, which they did promptly. I am now using the replacement, and so far, everything seems to be working well. I appreciate their responsive customer service and hope the product continues to perform as expected.
