Does the job, tells me wind speed, need to test it with stronger wind, great little thing for my drone so I know when to fly it or not.

I bought this for my husband, who is a weather nut, and he loves it. He can pop it in his bag, and measure the wind speed to his heart’s content. He gets the odd funny look from passers by, but if you like to keep people guessing then it’s just the ticket!

I am considering installing a small wind turbine at my property. I had a feasibility study done but it was difficult for the company to say for sure what wind speed I would get due to neighbouring properties/trees. Enter this anemometer to measure wind speeds at my property and send the data to my phone for analysis on averages etc. I chose it because it stated it could connect via bluetooth to an app and give regular data. The wind speed and temperature readings seem about accurate, but the device constantly powers off and disconnects from bluetooth even though I am well within 10 meters of the device. I have changed the settings in the app for it to not power off but it made no difference. In order to get average readings I am now forced to go to the anemometer and take a reading at the same time each day. It was actually meant to be attached to my chimney, obviously I can't climb the chimney every day so it's not really in the right place to get accurate measurements. I could have bought a much cheaper model if I knew I'd have to go and check it every day. Very frustrating.

The bigger the blades help to get a proper measurement and you can put it on a selfie stick to get some hight and the program can be downloaded on your phone to read the wind speed worth paying the extra

Does what it's meant to do

Low wind speed reading OK .. higher speeds very poor. Tested alongside two lifeboat station equipment and consistently under reads. Example: Lifeboat anemometer 31kt this unit topped out at 20kt at the same moment. Temperature is accurate.

You can check your readings at a glance without struggling to see what’s going on, even outside. Build quality feels decent for a handheld device. It’s lightweight but doesn’t feel fragile, and the vane spins freely without sticking, which is important for accurate readings. The only downside is the app could be a little more refined, but it still does what you need it to do once everything is set up. Overall, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Accurate readings, useful features, and a good option if you need a portable way to measure wind speed and temperature.
