Better than Casio
I'm really happy with this watch. I have a strong predilection for digital watches. I'd been wearing inexpensive Casios for years (decades), and been very happy with them, but recently their quality seems to have collapsed. The last 3 or 4 that I purchased (I don't give up easily) literally fell apart. In each one, within a few months, the case broke at one of the corners where it attaches to the band. (They are, supposedly, guaranteed for a year but, believe it or not, the case is considered a "consumable," and not covered by the guarantee! Even if it were, it's hardly worth the postage to send it back for repair.) This Timex seems quite sturdy. I've had it for four months now, wearing every day, and so far so good. Plus, I like the way it looks, and the design of the dial makes it easy to read - not a lot of junk information on it. It does a lot of things, which made setting it seem a bit intimidating, but it turned out to be easy to set the time and date - very intuitive (although you have to find the instructions online, they don't come with the watch) - and I don't need any of the other functions. It cost 2 or 3 times as much as the Casios I'd been wearing, but well worth it to me.

Excellent Watch for an Excellent Price
The numbers are large enough for me to read them without my reading glasses. The watch has all the features I want: waterproof, time and date, stopwatch, and timer, with or without beeps and chimes. If you are going to replace the battery, I recommend that you watch a youtube video first, to catch the hidden steps.

A Timely Discovery
After buying a very disappointing Casio el cheapo, first bad one I've ever had but it was royally bad, tended to reset itself if you placed it face down on the counter for example.... I ended up with this watch as a replacement. Wish I had seen this one first. The face is large and friendly. The display is both high contrast and suitably large print. I am getting older and it's nice not to have to squint. Even the secondary data like day and month are larger than many digital watches' main display yet the overall size is not humunguous. I like a large watch as I have large wrists and hands and this does not overwhelm. It's a bit thick and a little plasticky but it's not a Cartier or even a Seiko and I didn't buy it for elegance. The backlighting takes a bit of getting used to as it shows the dial in reverse, like a photo negative for those of you who actually remember photo negatives. :) But a couple of days on and I'm fine with it, The normal watch face is of such a contrast that I only need to use the backlight in real darkness and once you get used to the different look, it's not a problem to read at all. It's alleged to be waterproof to 100 meters but you must take that with a major grain of salt with anything but a genuine diving watch. If it survives an occasional dunk in the sink or a swim I will be happy. Watchband: The watchband is Velcro with a touch of something neoprene-like at the tip of the "belt" It's a bit awkward as the band doubles back through a "keeper" like the strap on a backpack and the whole thing is a bit thick and not easy to do one-handed. My wrist is thick enough I can't just undo the Velcro part, I have to slip the entire band out of the "belt" to take it off. A nuisance but not a fatal one, if your wrists are smaller you won't even notice. if my wrist was any larger, the band would not fit as it is extended almost to the Neoprene tab at the end, Other reviews have commented on this as well. I haven't yet played with the various inevitable extra features: stop watch, alarm, microwave oven etc. I rarely use them so I can't comment but as a nice, basic watch for everyday knockabout use, I am well pleased and the price is quite reasonable. You can spend more and get worse. Casio used to be my cheap watch of choice but their quality seems to have diminished badly. I haven't had a Timex since I was a kid (and that was long enough ago that you wound the watch by hand) but perhaps I've been away too long, I like this watch, it's not fancy but it works. Update 8/2015: Since I bought this I have started doing volunteer work at a local aquarium. Once a week, this watch is regularly dipped (up to my elbow) in salt water for minutes at a time and it's holding up fine. The band is getting worn and some of the rubbery parts are turning white, probably from the salt so it's definitely not the watch for classy evening wear now. No question it is water-proof for this level of use (up to about three feet deep with lots of activity) and I like it even more now. Update - May 2016- Keeps on trucking. Weekly salt water dunks continue with no problem whatsoever. Plastic case is showing tiny nicks and dents from rough usage and banging on the rocks. Velcro bajnd still works fine but has turned a sort of weathered "salt and pepper color". Update - Almost November 2016 - Velcro on the watch band has almost given up the ghost. Barely sticks now. I take it off and put it on at least once a day so I guess the "hook and loop" material is just worn out. A replacement band will probably cost as much as the watch so it may be time (no pun intended) to replace this one. On the plus side, the same battery is still going strong. Can't beat this watch overall for value. Great value in a basic every day watch. No longer even vaguely suitable for wearing with a good suit to the Symphony but it's a primo work-a-day watch.

Almost Perfect
Almost Perfect. I've been a loyal Timex fan since the 1990's. I don't know of any other sport watch in the U.S. market that provides as many functions and features as the Timex wrist watch. I love the redesign of the Expedition model however i wish the Indigo button were either designed recessed or slightly to the side as the Ironman line buttons are to protect it from accidentally being pressed. But besides that, i'm loving the new: recessed glass, mini-compass on strap, price, and the less plasticky feel wrist-band. I love the forest-green color i got, too. That's more features for less money than the Ironman series! The head of the watch itself is a little large but perhaps because i'm not used to it, hopefully not too large when it comes to durability. Because it's larger than the ~33mm Ironman i had. I only had to buy a new Timex because my previous one had accidental damage. I plan to be more careful and remove this one before engaging in activity where it may be exposed to harsh chemicals. Compass is a bubble-type, therefore you must position your wrist such that it's level to get an accurate compass reading. Only the display is back-lit when the Indigo button is pressed. In other words the compass or button words cannot be viewed at night unless you shine a light on it. *When you see the pictures notice how the Indigo button sticks-out and isn't recessed. Therefore you will have to be careful when brushing-up against or near things, especially when underwater. I'm going to turn-on the Beep function as a precaution so i can know if the button accidentally gets pressed and recommend others do the same.

JBATTERY IS UNK!!
Like others here I have used this model watch for many, many years. this one sadly is TOTAL JUNK!!!! I suspect the battery. I have a great selection of small screw drivers but could not access the inside of the watch to replace the battery. My suggestion: DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WATCH. AsI have a great assortment of screw drivers. 2 Hours later ... Managed to open watch. Issue 100% was due to dead battery. Seems many have had this issue. The battery was installed in the Philippines. Replaced the battery, watch back to life and workinkg fine.

Well worth the price.
Typical quality for the brand. Have tried lower cost watches but they kept poor time and I couldn’t see them at night when I woke up. I really like this watch.

Definitely worth it
Very astonishing watch. This watch exceeded my expectations and got it for a really good price, mostly got it bc i work as a landscaper and swim a lot, if you want a affordable and quality watch that you want to last many years this is the watch to go for highly recommend. The only thing I regret is not buying it sooner.

Awesome digital EDC watch....
.....this watch offers all you could possible ever need on a daily basis: - ultra clear, crisp display with absolute nothing but the time/day/date - 100 h stopwatch - 24 h countdown timer - 3 alarms - 2nd timezone (free to set) The watch is neither comical large nor ridiculous small, in fact it's a perfect size for an EDC watch. Although it is not very thick, it offers a good protection for the acrylic crystal with the bezel's rim that stands about 1.3mm above. The alarm(s) are very loud, the display is uncluttered, high contrast and very legible, the Indiglo backlight is awesome (the best in the entire watch industry), the timer can be set by 1 second increments up to 24h and the strap wears okay (not too great, but I changed the strap anyway). The battery is a 90mah CR2016 which should last quite a few years. Overall it is probably nearly impossible to beat that watch, it is not for pretenders but for people with common sense, looking for a quality product. Highly recommended ! Agent Shrader out

Un gran reloj
Comprado con promoción fue una ganga. Muchas más funciones que modelos más básicos y la iluminación Indiglo, una pasada. Con una mini brújula como un plus y super ligero.
