The manufacturer says no steam, no boiling water and no microwave, top shelf dishwasher is the way to go. We've been using the dishwasher for months, with the 3 main pieces separated then air dried and have no trouble with mold.

How does the toddler/child get the drink to come out if it's sealed? Is the mechanism similar to a regular sippy cup?

They suck as the lip of the cup. This sucking motion draws the fluid from between the poly lid and the silicon insert. It’s similar enough to drinking from a ‘normal’ cup; doesn’t engage the tongue or soft palate like a straw or nipple.

How fast is the reassembly? We are usually running for the door assembling sippy cups for daycare, and I need something that is quick and easy.

Fast. I usually run the white parts of the lids through the dishwasher with the silicone ring (above the threads) attached. Then just pop the colored top on and screw the whole top onto the cup.
