If you put some color onto a palette and use it with a brush you can. I found that with using the pens directly on wet paper the nib tended to suck up the water and push the ink away, turning it white. Had to hold it upside down for a bit to let the ink flow back onto the nib. **Q: How well do these hold up? I heard the Ohuhu brand pens started fraying on the tips after a short time of use.** A: I've used these periodically for a few months with very minimal fraying. I'm going to assume the degree of fraying is due to pressure, angle, and hours of use. I'm very pleased with these pens. They seem to be holding up quite nicely. I bought my 13 year old daughter a set as well and even the punishment she has inflicted upon them shows very minimal fraying. **Q: Would these be good to use in bullet journaling? Has anyone tried it?** A: Yes they would be good for bullet journaling.
