Great for my occasional needs, hefty and solid
I'm not a contractor, nor do I have a professional or well equipped garage work area. I'm just a homeowner who has an occasional need for a vice clamp such as this one. I will say that I do feel very professional having this clamped on the edge of my work top though. I can't say how this would hold up or suffice for a professional who uses it everyday, but this thing is hefty, solid, super handy and far sufficient for my needs. The little plastic protectors they provide to slip onto the underside of the table clamp, and on both sides of the vice itself are very nice to have. The pieces on the vice protect from scratches, though when I used it for holding a metal curtain rod in place, they tended to be a little slick. I stuck a piece of silicone on both sides and that provided both protection and grip. The pieces stay in place when being used, but they fall off easily if bumped when not in use. I've been keeping my vice clamped to the table so that plastic piece stays in place. I also keep the vice closed when not in use, and the plastic pieces aren't able to be knocked off that way either. Not much else to say other than I'm more than happy with this.

Good Vise
Works very well for the size.

Odd jaw extension slide.
Nicely made and sturdy, but odd in the sense that the moving jaw is the one at the bench-side as opposed to most other vises where the moving jaw is at the operator side. The disadvantage is that if you inserting a long piece vertically is not possible if the piece is longer than up to the top of the bench. While the vise will swivel, there are limitations to the object inserted. Kind of odd that it is designed that way. Also, when I received the vise the swivel locking lever was towards the front of the vise obstructing an object placed vertically. I realized that by taking off the clamp bottom the cam type lever could be reversed and is now as shown in the picture. All in all, it's a good vise unless you have to work on a long and wide vertically held piece. You could clamp in a 3/4 rod vertically extending below the bench, but not thicker than that. Of course, horizontally there is no limitation.

Good product
What a handy little hobby vice. It's my third hand. I clamp it to the table when I need it and store it in the drawer when I don't.

Good vise for the price.
Bought this to use sharpening chainsaw chains in the field. It's small but does what I hope for.

An Excellent First Bench Vise!
I was able to clamp a pieve of heated metal in these, grip the other end with some tongs, then walk around it to make a spiral handle for an old shop brush I have. It's a small vice, but a mighty one nonetheless! My one recommendation (especially for any other new/hobbyist smiths out there) is to save up for another vice that opens way from the mount, as this opens towards it. Don't get me wrong, this thing works great! Highly recommend grabbing one! You just have to be careful with clamping a long piece of material in these, since you only get about 1/4" of clearance between the outer jaw and your mounting surface. I'll probably update this review with a video later to demonstrate what I mean by "it opens towards the mount," just so other potential buyers see what I mean. Better to be informed! :) UPDATE: In the video I go over some of the features with the vise, but I may have discovered why the quick release button locks up. When you use that to push the jaws closed on something, I think it sort of lifts the teeth away from that spiral rail. So at first when you slide the jaw elsewhere, the teeth aren't in alignment with the rail. When you go to crank the jaws in either direction, the teeth will click into place and find their position again. Conversely, if you have it closed tightly onto something, those teeth have a really tight hold on the rail, which creates a lot of friction when trying to use the quick release. If you crank the jaws open a little bit before pressing the button, it relieves some of that friction and lets the teeth move more freely. All that is to say: if you clamp it tightly, it'll lock onto your material. Don't rely on the quick release to let go of something in a pinch (badum-tss), it'll be locked up until you unclamp the jaws a little bit. Hope this review is helpful!

Good little vise
Good little vise. Could be a little bigger, but ok size to put on a bench in the garage to hold things while you cut or grind them. Nice that it’s portable but still fairly stable when tightened up

Très bonne qualité
Pour le prix, je ne m'attendais vraiment pas a cette qualité, la finition est impeccable, même juste serré sous la table mon épouse coupe des morceaux de bois flottés avec un égoïne, elle est très heureuse de son achat.

Good value for $.
Swival clamp did not clamp. spun the vice a few times and it clamped down pretty well. Plastic jaw protectors do not fit. 1/4" too small for jaw plates.
