Q: Does it support 1080p 240hz

Yes, the bandwidth is basically equivalent to 4k60 so technically it works. I don't have a monitor with this resolution/refresh, so I've never tested it

Q: Does the cable work with a displayport source and usb c input?

Despite it saying its bi-directional, it didn't work for me with an RX 580 or a Radeon VII paired with an Acer PM161Q monitor. So unfortunately, no.

Q: 4k at 144hz when? Trying to use this on a macbook

According to the stats it runs 4k 120Hz. This will work on the MacBook USBC/Thunderbolt 3 ports.
