🌟 Dive Deep, Save More: The Chlorine Dispenser That Works Smarter, Not Harder!
The Sunken Treasure chlorine dispenser revolutionizes pool care by sinking tablets to the pool bottom, dissolving chlorine 2-3 times slower and using half the chlorine compared to traditional floaters. Built for durability and efficiency, it prevents chlorine evaporation, extends tablet life, and floats back up for easy refills. Ideal for pools up to 25,000+ gallons, this USA-made dispenser delivers sparkling clean water with less chemical waste and ongoing cost savings.

Works Just As Advertised
I have used the Sunken Treasure since mid May, and it’s now at the end of September. This is my first year of use. Let me briefly describe our pool: -It takes about 12000 gallons of water. -We have a homemade plastic pool cover on when not in use. -We have an ozonator which disinfects the water along with chlorine. So one tablet is enough even with a conventional dispenser. APPEARANCE: The plastic is not particularly ”high” grade or anything, but solid. The color quickly gets bleached by the tablet. The appearance is not too impressive, but it does the job as advertised. CHLORINE TABLET LIFE: The Sunken Treasure definitely lets the tablet last longer, by 2-3 days, at least. This really helps conserve chlorine. COST EFFECTIVENESS: Yes, this is an expensive dispenser, but I may have already saved some money on chlorine. And the dispenser is still in good shape, which is another saving. If I can get three seasons out of the Sunken Treasure, I will definitely save money using this over a conventional dispenser.

Adding up the savings...
I wanted very much to give this product a five star review. The concept is great and the product shipped quickly. My pool has sweeping jets on the bottom so I knew that I'd have no problem getting the chlorine to circulate, but therein lies my problem. While the dispenser gets pushed around by the jets, it sometimes comes apart leaving a naked chlorine tab (or two) on the floor of my pool. This direct contact stains the plaster. While it's functioning correctly though this does a great job of keeping enough chlorine in the pool to maintain sparkling clear water. And the unit, or its halves, dutifully float up when empty. I'm working out a way to better secure the halves using a nylon screw so this doesn't happen anymore, but I can't put a five star review on a product that requires modification of any sort to work correctly. UPDATE Fall 2014: The vendor reached out to me proactively to exchange my unit for another. Apparently, mine pops open more easily than it should. I've not tested the new unit yet, and won't until the spring, but I was very impressed by the vendor and I have every confidence that if I continue to have problems I'll get them resolved. Like I mentioned before, the unit works great other than the one, hopefully now resolved, issue. UPDATE Spring 2015: The replacement unit has proven itself solid and I've now purchased a second unit to help keep me going through the summer. With two tabs in each, they're keeping my chlorine at proper levels for about a month before they float up looking for more. My water temp is about 70 degrees at this point with my filter running 7 hours a day. I expect they'll run out faster as my water temperature rises in the summer, but I can confirm that these sink floats are working well and saving me money.

Works great in my older pool!
I have had The Sunken Treasure for over a month now, and am very pleased with it. I have had floaters in the past but they always just stayed in one place and never really seemed to keep chlorine levels stable. The sunken treasure does a great job of keeping chlorine levels stable. I get my water tested every week at a pool store, and since I've had this I haven't had fluctuation of chlorine levels or had to add liquid chlorine or shock, which for middle of summer and a pool that gets full sun and used daily is a life saver. Now I do keep it full with three tablets, and tuck any leftover pieces along the side of the larger tablets, I don't have any trouble with pieces falling out of the slats. So I'm saving on chlorine and chemical cost from not having all the fluctuation in chlorine levels, now I'm sure this is due to the fact that when it floats to the top I fill it up, where as before it was dependent on if I checked to see how many tablets were still in the skimmer basket! But isn't that the whole purpose of this product, I don't have to check, if it's floating I pop more tablets in! Yes it's expensive compared to floaters, however we have an older in-ground pool and we don't have the greatest circulation throughout the pool especially up near the surface, because this sits on the bottom near the outlets it gets moved around, I think that helps to keep the chlorine levels stable, compared to a floater. I have found this works exceptionally well for our pool and it's needs! I would give it five stars, but I'm waiting to make sure that it's durable enough to last.

Works great, saves money
Follow the directions and contraindications and it works perfectly. Uses much less chlorine than top floaters and keeps it where it needs to be and out of your lungs. My pool guy was skeptical but the ease of use and perfect water tests impressed him. I could never go back to the floating dispensers now. The pool overall is much nicer to use with the chlorine not concentrated in the top level, too. My in-ground pool has pale plaster and neither staining or discoloration has ever been a problem from the Sunken Treasure and this product doesn’t bother the pool cleaning robot.

Constantly floats even when it shouldn't
Bought our first one of these in March of 2024. It worked perfectly - sank to the bottom and only floated up when the tabs needed to be replaced. In June of 2025 it was looking a bit rough (faded from chlorine/sun and starting to crack from being dropped) so we bought a new one. The new one would sink for maybe a day but then start floating even though the tabs were new. We were having to force it to re-sink to the bottom on a daily basis. We figured we just got a lemon. After a few months of the daily frustration I bought another one in October of 2025. Same problem! We can force it to sink, but then it starts floating by the next day even with new tabs! This is no better than a traditional floating dispenser.

Awesome so far and lives up to its name!
So far this little Sunken Treasure has been awesome! I had my water tested today after installing this two weeks ago and I was surprised that for the first time in months, even years that my pool was at 70% and getting better. This is even after the last few weeks of rainy weather here in Florida, including the past 24/hrs of non-stop rain from Elsa. My Chlorine was at a 2.93. I was excited and I think I can contribute it to this little treasure not dispersing chlorine in the air from the top of the water, wasting it, but doing its job from the bottom! YEA!!! Also, my chlorine tabs are lasting longer as well and I added a new one today (7/8/21) after two weeks and it floated to the top letting me know it was time to add a new one, just as advertised. All I can say is get rid of the blue wasteful floater in your pool and get this sinker - the Sunken Treasure! IT WORKS!! You will save on chlorine and $$. I'm going to monitor my tab maintenance and report back soon. Thanks guys for developing such a great device. BTW, I have a bluish/green masonry pool bottom and the Sunken Treasure does not discolor the bottom of the pool as some have reported. Just place it right on top of one of the bottom drains like the instructions say and you are good to go! I'm very happy with the results and in addition to getting rid of the floater, I will be getting rid of another device that is not working soon!

Flimsy plastic, not worth the price
Have been using this for a month now. It works as advertised. The plastic is thin, and one is concerned about how long it will last in a chlorine environment. The locking clips hold together despite looking wavy to me. Where the two halves join together, the plastic is wavy. It was a distorted, brand-new, out-of-the-box plastic. It starts to float once the chlorine tab dissolves and becomes smaller. Sunken treasure is way overpriced, but that’s my opinion. One could guess the plastic manufacturing costs would be about $1.00. For $35, I was expecting something more robust. Something that would last a long time in a chlorine environment. It does not seem precision-engineered. For example, where the two halves join and mate together, they are wavy, and it just looks thin and flimsy. It’s thin enough that if it were dropped on my concrete pool deck, I’d be concerned it would crack the plastic. I’m concerned this thing has a short life expectancy, but we’ll see what happens. There is no way this is worth $35. This thing should be selling for $9.99. I won't buy another one if this fails. I think you’re paying for the brand name. There is a patent number stamped on the Sunken Treasure, so you’re probably paying for that too.

Great biy
Lasts longer than expected given its purpose and use condition. Easy to use and keeps chlorine in check.
