Thankfully, having heard odd sounds (a growing ticking noise), I drove straight to my local garage and as I entered the forecourt the engine ground to a halt with burnt oil coming out from under the bonnet. I thought the engine was history, but the garage assured me it was fixable. Had I been driving down the highway at 70mph it would have been different story. Once fixed and £600 lighter for it, the engine ran normally for about 2 weeks. About 4 days ago I started hearing diesel knock and pinking. The issue has gradually worsened. The car is going into the garage tomorrow for a service and an MOT, so hopefully, armed with this knowledge, the garage will find out the problem. The original injector issue may have caused oil seal problems, compression issues, inbalance in the fuel delivery, any one of a number of things. The manufacturers claim that the additive should work for a year. **Q: How much do you pour into the petrol tank** A: Have used this a few times , I find putting the whole lot in on half a tank if you use your car for short journeys as the stop start mixes it up …or if you use it for longer journeys put it all in on half a tank then fill up on top to mix it in .
