Good for soup
I've purchased this item many times before and may continue to do so. I really like the taste and it makes for an excellent miso soup. I personally prefer white over red.

Tastier than the dark red miso
It goes well with parboiled watercress, sesame seeds grinded and tofu, and a teaspoon sesame oil.

Not Packaged Properly
The package I received is not as pictured. It was shipped in a white plastic bag that has a type of flap that you would pull off a paper strip and fold it over. It looks like they had a large tub of the product and put it in plastic bags for distribution. There is no list of ingredients, which is against the law. I am not sure of the safety of the product. Do not buy it.
