Love this stuff!
I recently purchased the Harris Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth 10lb bag, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best investments I’ve made for my home, garden, and pets. This product is a versatile, all-natural powerhouse that delivers exceptional results across multiple applications, making it a must-have for anyone seeking chemical-free solutions. First and foremost, the quality of this diatomaceous earth is outstanding. Sourced from freshwater deposits in Nevada and packaged in Georgia, it’s 100% pure with no additives or fillers, earning it certification from the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for organic use. This purity gave me peace of mind when using it around my family and pets. The 10lb size is perfect for tackling larger projects, whether it’s pest control, garden care, or even health-related uses, and it’s a great value for the price. The included powder duster is a fantastic addition, making application a breeze, especially in hard-to-reach areas like baseboards, garden beds, or pet bedding. I used it to combat a persistent ant problem in my kitchen and was amazed at how quickly it worked. Within days, the ants were gone, thanks to the DE’s ability to dehydrate insects by cutting through their exoskeletons. I also sprinkled it around my vegetable garden to protect my plants from crawling pests, and the results were equally impressive—no harmful chemicals needed, which is a huge plus for my organic gardening efforts. Beyond pest control, I’ve used this DE for other purposes, like adding it to my pets’ food as a natural dewormer (after consulting my vet) and even as a gentle exfoliant in homemade cleaning products. The fine, white powder is easy to work with, though I recommend wearing a mask during application to avoid inhaling the dust, as it’s quite fine. The resealable bag is convenient for storage, keeping the product fresh and mess-free, though I did transfer some to a smaller container for easier handling.

GETS RID OF BAD BUGS IN YOUR GARDEN
Food grade diatomaceous earth works very well to get rid of bad garden bugs, like pincer bugs. But be very careful to only dust the base and stalk of the plant and on the fruit itself, like squash. Do not dust the flowering portion of your plants, or it could kill pollinators. As in all things, just be careful. You can put a baggie over your flowers when dusting. This is a natural pest control that works well, and must be reapplied about once a week when it gets washed off from watering. Another VERY important use of this product, food grade diatomaceous earth, is to mix in with your flour, cornmeal, wheat, etc. It is all natural, tasteless, and kills any bugs that dare try to get into your dry goods! It works by cutting the outer shell of the insect, so that it dies. We're talking microscopic type bugs, and larger, that can easily take up residence in your dry goods. I have used food grade diatomaceous earth in my dry goods for years. Just add a spoonful per small box or bag of rice, cornmeal, etc. Use more for larger containers. I ordered a diatomaceous earth "duster" from Amazon to make it easier to dust my plants. DE is also safe for use on pets for fleas! Start at their head, and work the DE earth down to the skin, being careful not to let your pet inhale the powder (as with any 'powder'). I prefer using DE for pets, rather than the harsh chemicals of flea powder.. I highly recommend this brand of Diatomaceous Earth, as it's reasonable in price, very clean, and does the job! And it's food grade!

Pet safe and works well
I live out on a number of acres of land and have numerous animals here. We wanted something that was safe for them to be around and I was surprised at how well it worked on fire ant hills. We have been using this on the property for a year and a half and, it is helped tremendously to keep the insect problem down. We even use it inside our home To control any insects inside the house. It is not toxic or messy. I use a bulb syringe and blow some behind wall plates to get into the walls when I see ants coming from behind receptacles.. It is very easy to use. It looks like a bag of cornstarch and I keep it in a sealed 5 gallon container with a lid and walk around and spread it on areas. If you are conscious of your environment with pesticides and have animals and kids, this is a great alternative that works well in controlling insects.
