Welding is Required! Review: Fit a 78 GMC 1500 2 wheel drive inside of the frame - Fit well on my 78 GMC 1500. I did have to trim some of the top and bottom, but I was able to get it inside of the frame rather than the outside. This provides significantly more support and don't have to worry about the steering box not aligning, additionally it will prevent future cracks. The bolt holes were inconsistent and had to re-drill two of them since they were too small for my steering box bolts. Overall good product and will support the steering box. Pics I've attached are before welding. Review: Worked great - 1986 K10 pickup, frame was cracked by the stock steering box over the years.
