No. The cord is held in place with a buckle on both ends. Even if you uncliped one side you don't have a core for your weave past the buckle. If you're looking to weave a belt or a sling you're better off making your own jig or just doing it freehand, it's not difficult. This tool is really only for making consistently sized bracelets.
