Works great in my fish pond. Shows the bottom water temp to put my mind at ease that my fish are warm enough in the winter. I have a floating thermometer as well and both show accurate temps with bottom warmer and top cooler.

Super reliable - has a good ecosystem of other things you can add to the sensors, my parents have this sitting on the dock and monitor lake temps for swimming etc. A little scientific/app is a little hard to figure out and not “good looking”. But the data is solid!

This is compromised of 2 components. The sensor with a 6 foot.long cable and the end is a Bluetooth transmitter. inside the house as a Bluetooth, the Wi-Fi converter. This converter also provides temperature and humidity levels. The iPhone application is pretty simple but it does what it needs to do. It shows instantaneous temperature as well as temperature overtime.

I'm using the thermometer with probe for my pool. The thermometer seems to be well built and sealed and the display is easy to read. I especially like the mounting bracket that comes with it, since the thermometer needs to be hung "sideways" to read the LCD display. I am using this as a standalone thermometer, so I can't comment on how it hooks up to a weather station.

Update. Ecowitt sent me a new unit under warranty. It has been running well since mid July. Updated to 4 stars. Beware... I got this on May 18, 2025. It is July 5, 2025 and it is stuck on 185° F, 85° C. It no longer works. This is too bad because it worked perfectly up until today. I won't be purchasing another one.

I installed it in pool skimmer to control pool temperature when I am away. It easy to install, stable connection, very helpful.

I have been looking really hard to find a weather station that would support water temperature reporting. The EcoWitt line of weather stations is the magic solution. FIrst, I ordered the weather station and was pleased with how easily I got everything online, and feeding my data both to Ecowitt.net and weather underground. Then, I ordered this water temp, but I was afraid I’d have to go through a lot of steps before it was synced with my weather data. Know what those steps turned out to be? “Put an AA battery in the display base.” That’s it. 60 seconds later, the water temperature is displaying alongside my rainfall, wind, UV etc. So easy! Definitely a must-have for anyone with waterfront property or, as others have noted, a pool or hot tub.

Ecowitt stuff is inexpensive and super reliable

Pretty impressed, works fine on my pond under the patio down the back yard. No range issues. I have it running through my Ecowitt weather station and really like having the ability to check the temperature away from home, especially with the hot weather .
