Item was exactly as described. Easy to install and fix an old connector that had gotten flattened. Make sure you’ve got a tiny screwdriver to fit the screws and it’s easy.

Received item sooner than expected. It was exactly what I needed to attach my amp to my quick connect for my sterio. Easy to install. My amp lines each had a possitive and negative line. After a little play I quickly discovered that only the possitive line is connected and was able to loop the negative around the base of the plug and secure it in place just by screwing the part back together.

I bought these for coax, RG-8x is a good fit. Once assembled, it appears strong and a solid connection to an RCA jack. The cons are that they are somewhat difficult to assemble, and it is a good idea to have a (cheap) set of jewelers screwdrivers. The tiny screw for the center conductor is in a thin wall tube, and the screw only engages two or three threads. I stripped one, with not much torque. Soldered it. If the barrel were a millimeter or two longer, there would be more room for a thicker tube and larger screw. Also, I tried using common speaker wire, with poor results. By the way, there is an amazing amount of misinformation on the internet about coax for audio. The most common is the claim that the 50 or 75 ohm coax is not a good match for 8 ohm speakers. Total nonsense in two ways. First, the characteristic 50 ohm impedance only applies at high frequencies, where the wavelength becomes comparable to the cable length. The second nonsense is that speaker wire is also a transmission line with a characteristic impedance, about 70 to 100 ohms or so, even worse match to your speakers. Remember TV twinlead to your antenna on the roof? It was 300 ohms. There is more. On the positive side, coax has much lower inductance than speaker wire. Less phase shift at high audio frequencies. Also, the resistance of the shield is much less than the 16 gauge center conductor, so half the resistance for the same length. Also btw, a search for coax shield resistance produces an AI answer of 10 ohms per foot. Ridiculous. Moral: Don't get your information from chat rooms, or wire sellers. There are good technical descriptions available. Also, five stars for Amazon. I got plastic baby bowls instead of RCA plugs (!?), and a text chat with Amazon had replacements in my hands in less than 24 hours. Many thanks.

These are made for coaxial type cables, with the negative wires being in a sheath around the inner positive cable, but with a little bit of adjustment, I was able to use a plug on a two wire stereo speaker cable. There is a lot of room around the cable. but that's to be expected. My only complaint is that the brass is so shiny! I use a headlamp to help me see small and detailed parts and connections, but the glare from the brass fittings inside is really bad, and made it harder for me to tighten the Positive screw, while holding the wire in place with one hand.

I absolutely love these RCA plugs. I can’t say enough good things about them for a DIY cable builder. They actually have a STRUCTURE to the terminal points instead of cheap thin metal like almost all others. And the plastic plug doesn’t melt if you solder the positive lead either if you know what you’re doing with soldering. If you properly flux the connection, get a dab of solder on the tip of the iron, and then hold that dab on the connection just until it pulls the solder into it, it won’t damage the plastic insulator plug for the positive pin. The solder acts as a heat coupler along with the flux and it flows in within a few seconds, so there’s hardly any heat transferred. The company even takes enough pride in their product to ARRANGE the plugs in their package so they all sit with “Sewell” facing forward. This company takes pride in details! Will buy again. Please do not discontinue these!

Reasonably easy to use. You need to strip a little more length than usual as the strain relief hole may not fit over your cable. Easy to use the screws on the shielding and the main conductor although you need a very small tipped screwdriver. I had a set of jeweler's screwdrivers for tightening up my glasses and used one of those to loosen the screws and then tighten them down onto the connectors. Well made.

I wanted to save some time on a project where I needed to make some RCA cables. I was using good quality RG58 leftover from a mobile ham install. I ended up spending far more time than had I just purchased high quality solder terminals. Problem 1: Several of the set screws were loose in the housing. When unscrewing the housing, the set screws would simply fall out. I lost set screws for two housings before getting wise to this problem and unscrewing the housings over something to catch loose set screws. Problem 2: RG58 is too small for these plugs when stripped to standard specifications. You need to to over strip and bunch the outer conductor back along the plastic insulator in order to have enough material for the set screw to purchase. Even then, there is little purchase between the outer conductor and the ground area of the plug. Resistance measured around 0.5 Ohm. I ended up soldering the outer conductor to the plug as well. Problem 3: There is little edge margin between the end of the center conductor and the set screw as the hole on the positive terminal of the plug does not go deep enough. The set screw will generally hold but there is... Problem 4: Some of the set screws for the center conductor stripped even using a tiny electronics screwdriver. At this point I know longer trusted them and soldered the center conductor as well. After all of this the cables rang out at 0 Ohms positive and negative and open between positive and negative so I was happy. But the design of the plugs made soldering a pain I ended up spending more time than had I simply purchased plugs requiring soldering. The only good thing that can be said is they look nice. I don't think the strain relief was good so I also taped the housings to the RG58.

They were good quality and worked well. The center wire was good size opening for my wire, the out side negative was to large for my application. This was easly resolved by soldering this portion of wire.
