Columbia Men's Watertight Ii Jacket

Light, fits well and is indeed waterproof

So glad to have found this brand (Columbia) at Amazon! The jacket will be an improvement to the windbreaker that my husband was using in the rain….now, this jacket will keep him dry.

This jacket fits better than expected.My son normally wear a 3xl and the 2xl fit him perfect. The hood was a bit large but he isn't complaining. The Columbia jackets do tend to run slightly bigger. He usually buys these jackets at the Columbia outlet and I was surprised that it actually fit him. I thought for sure I was going to have return it. He's 5'10 220 with a 44" waist. He probably could have paid a tiny bit less at the outlet but he needed it right away. These sizes tend to sell fast anyway so it could have been a waisted trip to the outlet anyway.

Fits as expected. Very versatile and packable. Would recommend two improvements, a two-way front zipper and velcro tabs so that the hood can be rolled up into a collar. I find a rain jacket that reaches below the hips to be ideal until I have to sit down. Columbia parkas that I bought ten and fifteen years ago two way zippers to facilitate bending at the waist. This jacket and the Bugaboo Interchange jacket I bought in 2015 do not have two way zippers and that means I have to unzip the jackets and rely on the velcro tabs to keep the coat closed when I am active outside (raking leaves, shoveling snow, etc). Similarly, a couple-three velcro strips sewn onto the upper back and inside the hood allows the hood to be turned inside out and rolled up into a collar on the Water-Tight II jacket. That assists in handling the jacket and keeping the hood out of the way when driving.

I just replace the one I wore several years ago. I wore the old one hundreds of times. It's light and packable. A basic two hand pockets jacket but does have a Velcro wind flap over the zipper and zipper pocket so it doesn't hit your chin. Quite good for the price that's why I replaced my lost one with the same jacket.
