It was very easy to install. It appears to be very sturdy. I am going to haul 4 bikes on a bike rack mounted on this reducer. I ordered a more stable metal sleeve to fit over the 1 1/4” bike rack post so that it is more stable. The bike rack came with a short plastic one that did not fit very snuggly. I mounted the reducer upside down on top of the bumper so that neither it or the bikes would scrap the road when driving out of uneven driveways.

When ordering the item I was very concerned by the reviews that refer to the install. However, this hitch fits on the bumper like a glove. I did not need to do any modifications, nor did I need a jack or force to have the hitch and screws in place. Install took 2 minutes at most, and it is well secured to the bumper. I like that this hitch is stronger and can hold more weight than the average bumper hitch. I also like that it has a built in loop so I can attach the bicycles security cable onto something. My only wish for this unit is to have a nylon-insert lock nut instead of just the spring ring. A quick trip to Home Depot solved that issue. The unit can be installed above or below the bumper. I installed it above so that the bicycles sit above the spare tire. Overall, good product for the money.

Like other reviews, the fit is tight, and has to be hit with a large hammer to get into place. Even then, pray that the holes clear for the bolts, not likely. I have to drill the holes a 1/16" more off to get the bolts to go through. It is well made otherwise and trust its strength.

The last trailer we had we paid over $600 to weld a hitch on the bumper. We only carry about 150 lbs. We just purchased a new trailer and heard about this product. 10 times less money, simple to install and so far we are very happy. Honestly though we haven't had it for long but I believe it will last because it is built very tough.
