Vibrant Over Brown
I wish I took a photo before hand but my hair was a medium, coppery brown(naturally medium brown but I have dyed it red in the past). I usually get it dyed professionally a deep reddish brown and it had faded. I tried this because I couldnโt go into the hair salon. I expected it to not be so vibrant over my brown hair. That is not necessarily a bad thing and I ended up liking it but just a warning. I will say it was very messy. I made sure to wash my shower after using it because it looked like a bloodbath and I think it would have stained. I needed to wash my shower for at least 8 (probably more but I canโt exactly remember) washes after this. It will stain your clothes or bedding, so I had to be sure to blow dry my hair. When using this I washed and dried my hair, then put this in for 30 minutes with a hair cap on then washed it out. Make sure you get the edges of your hairline good! I will say though it was messy it was very easy to do. The one picture is right after I did it and the other is about 2 months later. It took me 1 and a half of the bottles. I did not notice any damage to my hair. I would probably use it again for the price.

Think carefully
Manic panic dye is awesome! Ironically, I was also manic when I bought this. A year later and this carpet stainer is still in my hair, what more can you ask for other than a permanent reminder of why you need to take your meds. On a real note though, the color they advertise is the color youโre getting, so really awesome product if you want a solid color.

My personal holy grail in terms of color, but you will be bleeding forever!
I've been using this for a few years now to touch up on my red color. BTW this isn't going to (noticeably) dye any hair that's already dark, so if you have dark hair, you will need to lighten it first for the dye to show up. Vampire Red color I would describe as a deep burgundy with berry tones. It may appear brighter on your hair if you start out blonde or lighter (I have brownish lightened hair underneath, my natural hair is black). It will wash out every time you wash your hair and get brighter and more red and fade to red-orange eventually (depending on what your hair color has been lightened to underneath). TO USE: I start with dry hair. Then I squeeze out the bottle in a plastic bowl I got from Sally's Beauty, and use gloves and a cheap hair dyeing brush to apply to my hair. I use on average 1 bottle (sometimes another 1/4 of a second bottle) and I have medium-long hair (not very thick), Since it's a vegan dye, I wrap it up in a shower cap and actually sleep with it overnight and wash it out the next morning so it really soaks into my hair. Cons? Your hair will be dripping red dye F O R E V E R. Seriously, if you want to maintain red hair, your hair will never stop bleeding. This isn't exclusive to Manic Panic though, pretty much any red dye you use will do that to your hair (I've tried different types, including salon brands). I've given up swimming and try to avoid most moisture. Thankfully I live in a place that doesn't rain often. Also, it will stain your skin and clothes, so use gloves or be okay with pink hands especially the first 3-4 times you wash your hair after you just dye it. It will also rub off even when your hair is dry sometimes and you might see it on clothes that are white or light colored. Good news is, this has always washed out fine out of my clothes. Try to wear dark colors right after you wash though, dye that has dripped from wet hair doesn't come out as easily vs. the dye that rubs off of dry hair.

Love and Hate!
So I ordered both Manic Panic Pillarbox Red and the Amplified version of Vampire red and did test strands of both. For the test strands the Pillarbox red I kept on my dark brown hair (no pre-lightening EVER, but my hair already was a dull rusty colour from a faded red) overnight and it washed out clear... actually no colour came out at all and you could see a minimal difference but a difference none the less. THEN I tried the Ampified Vampire red and only kept it on for 40 min (and applied some heat) and it washed out a weird pink colour. My hair was noticably different and I was very happy with the turn out! In fear of it being too bright though I mixed half of each 4oz container and used EVERY BIT of it (I have long hair that goes to just below my bra clasp). After drying it my hair was a bright Fuchsia red colour! Very noticable that the dye was made of a pink base! Either way, after washing my hair *once* I got it down to a nice deep red that got everyone talking! CONS: 1) DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR SCALP IT (the amplified version) WILL STAIN. I got a little on my scalp and it was BRIGHT RED. You can easily scrub it off with normal shampoo but that also dulls the color. 2) Also, the *Amplified* dye stains everything it comes in contact with whereas the normal version is easily washed off. 3) When you wash your hair ALOT of dye comes out and also stains alot even if it sits on your counter for 2 seconds. 4) I've washed my hair 4 times and the color has changed greatly which kind of sucks but you can still tell it's red! 5) The back of your neck is going to be a pinky-red and so are your hands after you take a shower. Otherwise it made my hair feel great and shiny! No damage at all! I'd reccomend it but only if you know what you're doing or are willing to risk it a little!

Vampire red over old semi-perm blue, no bleach!
For some unknown reason, I thought it would be fun to dye my hair two shades of blue for the Fourth of July trip we were planning to take to South Padre. As you can expect it did not go well and I could not get rid of it!!! Color oops would not work, and I tried clarifying shampoo after clarifying shampoo. I didnโt want to put bleach in it so I thought thought well. I will just try to go over it with red since that is the color I typically dye my hair anyway. To my surprise, it colored the ugly blue, although it did make a bit of an ombrรฉ as it got darker toward the middle and end, so it almost looks black. Nonetheless Iโm glad it is not blue so I am perfectly fine with it. No bleach, just 2 bottles of straight vampire red. I did cover it with two Walmart bags while it processed and fell asleep in it. Nothing happened. It actually seemed to make it softer. I will say that this was a month ago and it is still bleeding red to this day in my shower, so keep that in mind! Lol I donโt care because I am so glad it is no longer blue!!!! I hope my review was able to help you make your decision, have a great day!!!

Amazing pigmentation, even on dark hair!
My hair had a medium brown balayage before I colored it, and my natural hair is the darkest brown/black (like an 80% cacao chocolate bar, lol). I wasn't sure how it was going to turn up, if at all, and I was pleasantly surprised and in LOVE! On my hair, it became a deep but vibrant red/magenta, which is what I wanted. As it fades it became a very fun transitional color (like a light pink ombre). I have a medium-length bobbed course and thick hair, and one bottle did the job just right, but if you have anything longer than that I recommend a second bottle just in case. Pro tips (application) - Cover the edges of your face/neck with Vasoline/Aquaphor/balm, and have makeup/wet wipes to clean up other spots as you go (witch hazel and nail polish remover do wonders for stubborn spots). Section out your hair into smaller pieces and use a fine-toothed comb or brush to make sure it covers as much as possible (I pace myself and make sure I get all sections once before going back to catch the missing spots). Avoid your roots as they will stain for the foreseeable future (mind where you part your hair especially!) Use gloves during and while rinsing (unless you want to be caught red-handed, literally.) If you don't have a shower cap handy, I used a clean plastic grocery bag and hair clips to keep it taught. If it helps, pour out the solution a little at a time into a disposable bowl (or line one with foil/plastic, like me) so you don't waste product. Pro tips (post-application) - Use a dark-colored towel to dry your hair. Rinse in cold water, it will take a little while (and maybe wipe down your shower/tub with some bleach right after). Have a friend check for any remaining dye stains on your back/neck/shoulders and wipe them (so you don't look like you survived getting mauled by a bear, but if you're into that go for it). Use a conditioning hair mask the first few washes to keep your hair looking sleek and soft. If you sleep with wet hair (like me) either put a cap over your hair, lay a towel over your pillowcase, or dry it before sleep the first few washes (some color may transfer while wet). Lastly, enjoy it! I get so many compliments of people adoring my color. I will continue to use this brand, I literally have nothing bad to say about them so far. Photos - First day/one month and a half-ish after

So beautiful!!
Heres some before and after photos!! I mixed one of these with a thing of rock n roll red, and it turned out so good!!! Didnt stain my shower, only a little on my sink (which was my fault lol). I left my mixture on for about 3 hours and my hair isnt fried or anything. Highly recommend!!!

DO NOT BUY DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
I was so happy at first finding a. Vegan dye! This is the worst dye I have ever purchased besides SPLAT. It stained fabric, skin, and surfaces indiscriminately, and when rinsing, nearly all of the dye came out, leaving behind inconsistent color patches. Although the color itself is beautiful, the overall experience was disappointing due to its poor staining quality and ease of rinsing and the color bleeds out

The colour is highly pigmented and i get the colour I want. However, it bleeds a lot eventhough the price is high. I have to redo my hair every 2 weeks or so

WORKS GREAT! Even on your tub and bathroom walls!
ok ok this one is complicated It could be 5 stars? You know what let me change it from 3 to 5 and then give some warnings! WARNING: this stuff works TOO GOOD. Your bathroom will match your hair, TRUST ME. After using this, wash/rinse in KITCHEN SINK! Something STAINLESS or just a very dark color. You will probably ruin your tub/silicone seal lol The color came out BEAUTIFUL and BRIGHT! I have been on/off using a 2-1shampoo/conditioner that ALSO refreshes the color and in combination it all looks nice. My hair is a nice deep bloody red, but a slightly cooler shade rather than warm (artist know what I mean). When the sun catches it, BOOM! So yeah, 5 stars but holy-mess, batman!!! NOTE: My husband HATES it (the mess, that is)
