How do I know the use by/expiration date? I don’t see it on the jar.

These peppers, olives and pickles are packed in vinager and salt. They don.t have an exp. date because they last years.

Are these mild or hot tasting?

Alittle spicy, but not hot. It is one of the mildest of the peppers with any heat.

Is the jar glass or plastic?

It has a glass jar so they will keep in the fridge after opening for a while. So don't worry about the container you should be worrying about the quality. And I give that a 5 star rating.
