can you use this with just one arm

No. I had trouble using it with two arms. Although I have a solid door and put it on, it slipped off and the whole thing came down and hit me in the head. I threw it in the garbage.

I bought this one but the cord/string broke. Where can I find the replacement cord/String

It looks like regular string or cord that can be purchased at any hardware store. Take a piece with you and I think it will be easy to match the size at Lowes or Home Depot. Maybe even a grocery store. Good luck. I love my excerise pulley. It's the only think that keeps my arm and shouler mobile enough to do anything at all. Good luck!

can you use/install just 1 round pulley, still using 2 handles, one for left, one for right hand?

I had PT doctor set up the pulley for me as he had recommended this one for me to use at home. I am using only the pulley at the end of the arm , sitting in a chair using both one handle in each hand. I use it for both shoulders. I hope this is helpful.

How Long are the ropes?

They were 8 to 9 feet long and the rope is 1/4 inch nylon rope. It can be replaced vary easily if it wears out or if you need longer.
