I will be returning and will order another one. Hopefully I will have better luck this time. I'll update after the new one arrives.Update- The crate itself seemed to be as advertised. Sturdy, safe, appropriate size for my 48lb mix. I never got the chance to put it together b/c it was broken so I'm adjusting to 3 stars b/c it seemed good. I had high hopes for the crate, but arriving broken just really turned me off on it and, fair or not, reflects in my feelings about the product. I found a similar crate of a different brand that also has an escape hatch and I ordered that. Well made and designed. Actually gave my dog more room inside while taking up less room in my car. I now have my back seat back in my Subaru Legacy!! Be ware there is a similar looking product for much less money available but the sides are made of plywood painted to look like aluminum.
