Don’t wait and buy this! We purchased 1 of these 10 years ago. At the time I thought would we use it…. But 10 years of constant use (even moved it into our RV) our first one started making a sound. So we purchased a second one. Just as good and so convenient!

My best friend recommended this water boiler to me. It boils water fast and easy to use. The best part of having it is that u can have hot water anytime u want. It is so convenient.

Great for group settings or for single heavy hot water drinkers like me. I fell in love with large Zojirushi hot water thermoses when I worked in an office in Japan—imagine having piping hot water ready to make tea with, all day long! I hesitated to splurge on a Zojirushi back in the US, because traditional electric kettles are so cheap and ubiquitous. But after several highly-rated electric kettles broke in some way or another within a few months of being used multiple times a day (I like tea and even prefer to drink plain piping hot water over cold), I decided to go for the Zojirushi during a sale event. It was well worth the splurge! On work nights, I can set the time delay function to have the water hot and ready at the perfect temperature for my morning tea when I wake up, with enough water left over to fill both my and my partner’s work thermoses as well. On the weekend, I can leave the keep-warm function on to instantly warm up or brew a new cup of tea throughout the day—with its 3 liter capacity, I rarely need to refill the device or reboil from scratch. The temperature settings may feel limited but are all you need for most varieties of tea or coffee. The wide opening makes for easy filling, emptying, and cleaning, and was also the perfect size for scooping out water with a hishaku for an informal tea ceremony experience. I highly recommend using the suggested cleaning tablets, as mineral scale will gradually build up over use, and the tablets (combined with the device’s self-cleaning function) work really well at eliminating this natural buildup and keeping the device in prime working order. The one thing I think Americans might need to get used to is the need to unplug it to turn it off (and to prevent it from boiling dry when low), but in this case that means easily detaching a magnetic safety plug rather than unplugging it from the wall outlet itself, so there’s little effort needed and minimal, if any, wear and tear to the device or your wall outlet. 6 months into repeated daily use and no issues yet—if this goes on for another year, I will end up saving since I don’t have to keep replacing worn-out kettles!

This water boiler has been really useful at home. My mom drinks hot tea all the time, so this makes it much more convenient for her instead of waiting for water to boil every time. The size is perfect and it keeps hot water ready all day, which saves a lot of time. The different temperature settings are nice and the build quality feels very solid. It heats up fast and stays warm without needing to reboil. A bit pricey but definitely worth it if you use hot water a lot.

4 YEAR UPDATE - STILL WORKING LIKE NEW! Amazon discontinued the vacuum insulated Panasonic water boiler so this was the choice after a power surge burnt out my Panasonic. I still hate the extra pump safety button requirement for my retirement home where no kids are allowed but the quick boil feature will save power and steam and I needed the 10 hour timer option. The obnoxious little tune it plays when done after the power goes out can be turned off so just a beep is heard but you have to silence the tune each time you have removed power. I added extra insulation around it and I keep a kitchen towel over the top to reduce wasted heat entering the room. I expect the liner to not rust and make scale easy to flake off on its own. For 5 stars they will have to use more insulation and give a way to over ride that stupid safety button before pumping. EDIT - TEN MONTHS LATER - Still good, no rust. Lots of older reviews here from a time before they upgraded their materials. I just let the scale build up until it gets thick and flakes off. It has no flavor and is not worth the time to clean as long as you keep the pump screen cleared. I never fill mine more than half way, enough for my needs. It is placed where the spout is over the sink for washing dishes. YOU CAN HEAT CANNED FOODS TO FULLY READY TO EAT if you gently lower the can into the chamber with label removed. I heat my morning sausage gravy can in it at the moment I have finished making coffee and lower the temp to 160 for the rest of the day. That literally uses no power at all and prevents the heat from entering the room as it cools from 210 to 160 by heating the can. Very efficient and eliminates need for a hot water heater in the home except for bathing.

I drink tea all day and had been using an electric kettle. But the electric kettle never kept the water warm for more than 20 or 30 minutes. So every time I needed hot water, I would have to re-boil the kettle or stick the mug in the microwave. I was so excited to get this product because it allows me to have hot water all day long for my tea. And I get to adjust the temperature to a lower setting for herbal tea. I’ve only had it a couple days but it’s working really well. I’m so glad I bought this instead of another kettle that’s only going to break down in four months. I fill it in the morning and use the water throughout the day. At night, I unplug it and empty out whatever water is still left. Then I leave it open to dry overnight. I don’t know if you have to do this or not, but I don’t like leaving standing water around for too long.

Looks solid, and works pretty good

This comes with an EU plug so it's not suitable for UK sockets, annoying because it's sold on the UK Amazon site. Don't even try to use a travel adapter for kitchen appliances, it's not the correct voltage and you'll probably blow a fuse or risk a fire hazard. The actual product is probably fine, Zojirushi is a highly reputable brand and I've used their water boilers in the past and loved them.
