I needed to find a cord that would go from an XLR to a 1/4" jack, so that I am able to use my acoustic guitar with a wireless setup. This turned out to be the perfect solution.

Awesome and perfect fit for my DJ DISCO system.

I got these to connect balanced TSR cables for my monitors with XLR outputs from my mixer and I would get no output with these interconnect cables. I tried another pair of adapters I had and those did the TRS/XLR conversion just fine. I did some continuity tests, and it looks like they were wired correctly but the female TRS end would not connect correctly. In particular, this did not work with Livewire Advantage TRS cables (Neutrik connectors). In this case, both the tip and the ring on the TRS side had continuity with what would be the ring on the XLR side. I tried some other adapters I had, and it seems to have to do with that chamfer on the inside of the connector (as seen in the picture). If the TRS male plug had a narrow enough collar that it would push in further, I could get it to separate the tip and ring signals. It seems the Livewire won't go deep enough (and Livewire uses Neutrik TRS connectors, so something pretty standard). Needless to say, I will be returning these as they do not work for my setup. Unfortunate, as it is difficult to find short female to female patch interconnect cables.
