Easy to use. Good value for the money.

My original reason for purchasing this little slide device was as a gift for my 93 year old father’s birthday. I knew that a bunch of old slides were recently found without anyway to view them. Decades ago my family would view them together, on the wall with a slide projector. During their move to a retirement community we thought they were lost along with the projector. With my Dad’s decreased mobility and memory loss, this little device has brought him hours of entertainment and joy. Viewing them never gets “old” to him! It doesn’t occupy much space and it’s easy for him to use. We got an additional power cord so he doesn’t have to replace the batteries. It magnifies enough for personal viewing . . . not crazy enlarged but easier to view then holding them up to the light and squinting. I’m grateful to have found this little “toy” for my Dad . . . The product is a simple "one slide at a time" viewer. You insert the slide and after viewing eject it below into a tray by turning a knob. The clarity of the viewer is acceptable. If you are doing a quick evaluation of the content of the slide, you should be able to accomplish this by holding the slide in front of the viewing window. This will save time. According to the product description, the viewer can be powered by either a USB cable (included) or 4 AA batteries (included). However, I had issues. The box was open when it arrived. It was missing the USB cable and only had one of the four batteries. The instructions were badly wrinkled. It seems clear to me that I was not sent a new product but, instead, one that had been rejected by a previous purxhaser. Their customer service was unclear as to how the issues could be resolved so I opted to return the product and purchase from a different supplier. 06/28/2025 UPDATE - Above you can determine why I originally had a "1-star" rating. I have updated my rating to "4-stars" for the following reasons. The product "gets the job done" as I have explained. It isn't fancy, it isn't automated but it works well. The price seems fair to me. In the course of working through my issues of only 1 of 4 batteries and no USB cable, I discovered the following: The Amazon website for this product states that a USB cable is included; but, if you read the information on the actual box, a USB cable is not included. I have notified DigitNow of the need to update the product description. I also worked with DigitNow's customer service, which was very good, on a solution. They have refunded my purchase cost as I need to have the Slide Viewer powered by USB. I am satisfied with the outcome and would buy from DigitNow again.

Easy to use, good even backlight, and I like the way it drops the slides into the tray after viewing. Good choice for previewing or sorting slides, not really big enough for more than 1 person to view though.

Used for reviewing slides I was scanning. Perfect. Also used for negatives

I have not tried to view film yet. The slide viewer was exactly what I wanted. I feed slides individually and the screen illuminates and magnifies the field. The package includes batteries to insert into the viewer and a cord to plug into a power source for illumination which I have yet to use. I am using this for evaluation of microphotographs of tissue samples and this is fine for use at home.

Efficient and easy to use!

Works for what I need which is viewing old family slides I uncovered. Using batteries and works well. Occasional slide gets stuck. Would recommend buying.
