Nice cheap sensors
Got these for a robotics project. They performed as expected. The potentiometer to adjust sensitivity is nice. Digital output is clean. Only thing that would have been nice is a different color led to indicate when the sensor is tripped.

not the output I wanted
The sensor works for the distance mentioned in the description. I have used the LDR version that is of similar design and size. I had expected that when activated, meaning an obstruction comes within the sensing range, that the DO from the sensor board would be "high". The output on these boards is "low" (less than 1V) when the IR is obstructed. The circuit appears to work well, so I can't fault them for that. It would have been nice to know before I bought them that the DO was "low" when the sensor was blocked. I ended up creating a simple transistor logic inverter to create the high output I needed for the circuit I was using.
