If you can only have one wood file, this is a good choice
If you can only have one wood file in your tool kit, this is a good choice. I wanted a small tool kit that would have most of the tools I need for household jobs. I wanted a wood file in a metal file and this is a good choice if you need one file as a wood file.

30 years old and still good
I just bought this to replace an old Nicholson 4-in-hand I've used for 30 years and when I tried to toss out the old one I couldn't do it. It's not as sharp but still works so maybe I'll hang on to it just in case someone needs to borrow one.

Cuts great
I can definitely recommend this to people who may occasionally need a rasp or file, but if you'll need those tools with any regularity do yourself a favor and get full sized files and rasps.

just what I needed
It is a rasp and file with flat rasp and file on one side and round rasp and file on the other.

Convenient for tossing in the tool bag when you're not sure what you'll need.
I got this rasp for its form factor of having multiple rasps in one piece. Each section is shorter than a dedicated rasp, so its not as quick/easy to work with, but takes less space than 4 dedicated rasps. For me, the space was more a factor than ease of use. I have a variety of rasps in the shop, but this one is more convenient for tossing in the tool bag when I'm not sure what I'll need.
