A lifesaver
This review comes a few years after I bought this product for my elderly mother. Not sure exactly what year I bought this, but it was pre-covid. My mom lives about 450 miles away from me, and was in the habit of taking long walks by herself, some in populated areas and some in wooded trails along a river. She was using a lightweight broom handle as a walking stick and I wanted something sturdier, so I ordered her this stick as a gift. Initially, it was "too heavy," and "too tall". Eventually she tried it. Fell in love with it. Two years ago, my mom was in the hospital and they dropped her, resulting in major mobility issues. She needed a ramp at the house to get in and out. Difficulty taking stairs. That is when this walking stick really became her lifesaver. She uses it every single day. To the point where the tip has worn out several times, and she uses the tip from a crutch as a replacement. She carries it everywhere, from art class to shopping at the store. Everyone comments on how much they like it. Many men included. The best part is that it allows her to keep her spine vertical, without having to bend over to put her weight on a cane. This stick is helping to keep her independent, and healthy, without having to resort to a walker or a cane. Without it, I don't think she would be able to stay in her home of over 50 years. I would highly recommend this as an alternative to a cane for someone with some mobility issues. I know its not the intended use, but many seniors don't want to use a cane or a walker. This allows them to balance their weight better without leaning all the time. So, for me, this is 5 stars, it literally has been a lifeline for my mom. Thank you.

Excellent Product
Took a picture because I used parachord to weave a grip. (Thanks YouTube ๐). I am 71 and live in San Juan mountains in CO. Always used hiking poles and have climbed multiple 14rs in last 8 years. As I get older and hike mostly alone the staff has more added value to me then poles. Donโt carry a gun and the staff provides some decent protection if necessary. This has been a very active bear summer. Also hiking poles, when descending, tend to put me in a forward leaning position that I find u steady as I get older - not good balance. (Note: poles at highest available position). With long and solid staff I hope to maintain my balance much easier not leaning forward on more extreme downhills. Also staff is more secure on stream crossings for me. No lean and more solid. Have had it a couple weeks and have hiked only easier trails to get the feel. Will update if I find any issues with staff vs two hiking poles if necessary. Will probably continue using hiking poles with baskets on tips for snowshoeing. I chose this pole due to variety of woods and the workmanship - very well done! Highly recommend.

Professional Craftsmanship
What I saw I got, exactly. At 5 ft 8 inches tall, my walking stick comes almost to my neck. It is well made and strong. Packing was outstanding. They did a professional job in making this product and packing it. I highly recommend it.

Brazos Rustic Wood Walking Stick, Twisted Hickory
Nice and sturdy, great finish. I would have given this a 5 had it been straight, too great a bend in it for my taste.

Awesome Sticks
This stick feels awesome and looks great. A very well made product and sent in a timely fashion. I highly recommend these walking sticks as opposed to the lame aluminum rods that the city dwelling yuppies like to use!

Nice!
I wanted a walking stick over a cane, and this product fit the bill. Nice finish, very sturdy feeling, and just the right length for my height. I was hoping for a relatively straight piece, without any major crooks in it, and I received one with just enough of a deviation that it gives the thing character. If there were one thing I would change, it is to not have the hand area milled/sanded down quite so much. It's a little thin (small in diameter) for my hand, and when combined with the smooth finish, it makes for a less than stellar grip. To remedy that, I applied a thin leather wrap (ordered on Amazon) that is used on the handles of tennis rackets. Not only did it take care of any of my concerns, but it also looks fantastic. I highly recommend this upgrade if you have the same opinion I have of the handgrip area. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase, and would recommend this product to anyone looking for a sturdy, classy looking walking stick

Great find in a walking stick that is practical and beautiful
Beautiful strong wood and workmanship. Very practical and not too heavy for carrying around on those walks.

Natural Flawed but lovely !
The stick I received was twisted as expected but also crooked ! So I cut off the crooked part and replaced the rubber end and found it suited me better as I prefer a shorter stick for walking... A really seasoned stick of hickory looks like it might last a long time.

Great hiking stick
This is a really good hiking stick - absolutely solid and provides invaluable support for hiking. No sign whatsoever of flex or give with this hickory stick, even when I put a lot of weight on it. However, this stick is on the heavier side, one notices this after several hours of hiking - just switch hands! The heavier weight is more than compensated for the rock solid support that it provides. I wouldn't recommend this stick for someone looking for a more lightweight stick though.
