So we’ll make! My kids love using these, they even like to race to see who can thread it the fastest. Such cute designs and colors. It’s definitely worth the money! Melissa and Doug are my go to toys for my kids so durable and soft, and it’s a good size for the kids to be able to hold and use with ease!

My granddaughter just turned three and I bought her these cards for her birthday. They are reasonably priced, colorful and durable. The only drawback is that the drilled holes are ruff and the string can get caught up a bit when threading but a person could ream them out with a tool if they wished. My granddaughter likes them and will thread them in different ways and cross over the pictures. She has fun with them. They keep her attention and develop fine motor skills too.

I bought the M&D Lace & Trace Farm AND the Lace & Trace Pets for my almost-4-year-old. As I type, she's having a ball with the pets set. I can see hours of enjoyment coming, and I can certainly see that it's going to be a challenge for her hand-eye coordination skills -- something all kids need to develop. Speaking as an adult, I am absolutely tickled pink to have found sets of cut-outs that are made of something that's not going to bend or tear, like the ones I had when I was a kid. These cut-outs are sturdy, 1/8" thick wood. It's going to take a lot more than general wear and tear to ruin these puppies! In fact, I can even see getting them out for my grandchild(ren) to play with one day. They're that well-made. On that score, I give them a full five stars and would give more if possible. The laces, though, are rather another story. After less than an hour's play time, they're already showing signs of wear. They're made of some sort of braided nylon-type material that snags a little too easily on just about anything (including the pre-drilled holes in the wooden cut-outs), so I'm already reminding my preschooler not to let the cat play with them. Though they're color-coordinated with the edges of the cut-outs, my daughter hasn't noticed and probably wouldn't care if she did; I'm sure I'll be able to replace the laces pretty easily if they get too snagged and ratty. Still, it would have made more sense to make them out of something less "snaggable." One last thing would have made this a fully five-star item in my book: Some sort of lid on the box, or perhaps a soft-sided carrying tote. These sets come in a flat wooden box with two compartments -- one for the cut-outs, one for the laces. While the laces and cut-outs do fit back into the box with little trouble, there's nothing to KEEP them in the box -- no lid, no straps, nothing. If it had come with some sort of lid, problem solved, but I think I'm going to have to buy some sort of tote that zips or snaps shut, so my daughter can keep everything in one place easily. Still, as I said before, this is one heck of a durable set of cut-outs. I am very happy with the purchase and, more the point, so is my daughter!

I bought this for my 34 month granddaughter. She has a variety of toys. I try buying her things that will help challenge her. She knows her ABC,NUMBERS COLORS ETC. She is really good at puzzles (12 Pcs) too. But this one she got very frustrated with so we put it away for now.I would reccomend this for someone a little older. I will get it out at a later date and I'm sure she will tackle it later. The cards . sturdy. The strings are plenty long enough . Cute designs.We look forward to playing this in about 3 to 6 more months.

The Melissa & Doug Lace and Trace sets are wonderful tools to help toddlers and young children acquire and strengthen their fine motor skills. The laces are colorful, long, and durable with edges that are sized very well for little hands. The farm animals (cow, rooster, pig, lamb, and horse) are colorful, bright, and attractive. They are made of strong cardboard and will last a long time. The set comes in a wooden box for storage. We love this set-- helps with visual perception, fine motor skills, and developing greater concentration and patience. Educational and fun!

I ordered this when my toddler's teacher told me that he need to work on his "fine" motor skills. I like that the animal imprint is on both sides. I like that the strings are well contructed and aren't flimsy. Melissa and Doug are generally really great products and this was another one. My toddler is kept entertained with the animals although he gets frustrated when he can't get the lace in the "right" hole, but that's all apart of the process. After having it a few weeks, I can see major improvements. This is a great activity that not only teaches fine motor skills, but patience! What isn't great about teaching a toddler patience!

The wooden panels came earlier than expected very soon after ordering and are exactly as described. Good price. Threads are getting tatty very quickly though.

Very nice . No Sharp edges .great learning toy . My son learned how to lace it up in a few holes after few moments. This will help him how to learn how to lace his shoes one day . I'm very pleased
