Will this tool work as well cutting non threaded rid of the same dimensions. Say 5/16 mild steel round bar?

The dies will probably get damaged from putting in non threaded rod. I’d look at the Milwaukee Fuel M18 metal cutting circular saw or a portable band saw for this application

Will this cut rebar, 1/2"?

It is not designed for rebar , it is designed for all thread only

Takes a few seconds to cut and no burrs nut thread right on. Faster and better than zip cut or saw

Cuts clean and saves me so much time. Use to cut all thread with my reciprocating saw but chanced cutting fingers and cuts were always damaged and had to debur them to work and it would take a while. Super awesome tool.
